Exfoliate and moisturize? You could also try some men's eye cream, I'm sure Kiehl's or Clarins or Aramis makes something like that. And drink tons of water.

Do any of those eye creams really work? They just seem like snake oil to me.

The only things that make my face look tired are stress, too much caffeine, not enough water, and lack of appropriate sleep.

They're basically just moisturizer with some vitamins/anti-oxidants or some other supplement du jour. I used a sample I was given once in a while (I think it was Aramis), I can't I really paid attention to how it affected the circles under my eyes or any other cosmetic effect. I'm pretty sure regular moisturizing over a lifetime can reduce wrinkles around the eyes, but obviously that's a very long term consideration. I did enjoy the sensation and felt like the are was a little less tight upon waking, if that makes any sense.

Maybe somebody else will chime in on the subject.

It could be eye strain and fatigue.

I don't know of a solution, but I have the same problem. I think it's because I stare at a computer monitor all day.

Oh no.. caffeine and staring at a computer monitor often.
I have a similar issue, but I dont know if I can elimanate those two things from my life.

I have all the contributing factors: I am a heavy caffeine junkie. I tried to cut back but a stressful job put an end to that. Also, I'm sleep deprived (get 6-7 hours every night). Regular alcohol every night to recover from work is probably a contributing factor as well.

A series of photographs over the past decade shows the progression and it is quite sad.

I get really bad bags under my eyes at times and they were subdued for a while but just started showing up again. It's probably because my sleeping pattern isn't the best. grr. lol.

I put some copper peptide cream under my eyes and it took the bags away from under my eyes literally overnight.

Aside from having a healthy, balanced diet. adequate rest, exercising and taking care of your skin via eye creams and sun protection, not sure there is much more you can do to prevent or improve the tired look. Perhaps the somewhat drastic step of cosmetic surgery.

this could be one cause but i tend to have cut the number of hours in front of the computer...also i had searched for the problem online...the result they gave suggested eye fatigue ,but most of them had measures to prevent eye fatigue not to cure it...so that lands us back from where we began..What Should we do? mosturisers don seem to do the trick, because they are mostly superficial application...not much of working on the eye...

Most probably smirked off that advice but it is actually good advice. Also, after drinking your nightly tea, put your tea bags over your eye area for 10 minutes lay back and relax.. again think happy thoughts.

I find the above, to be soothing. Cucumber slices are terrific, as well. Exfoliation is a big step toward livening your skintone. Exercise is also a must. As for the happy thoughts . . . I gave up on those, a long time ago. But, think them if you're able. Can't hurt. And try to get lots of sleep.
