Benzoclin?

Thread Starter
Just got put on the stuff the other day by my doctor. Finally went to see someone about my acne. He gave me 2 samples and a prescription so I should be on it for a while. A friend of mine who used it said it did a good job on her for a while but then she broke out pretty hardcore and had do go onto a tougher medicine/cream. So far I've seen a beastly breakout, though numbered, on my right jaw line/cheek. Anyone have any idea of how long it'll take before I start to see some nice results?

I've been using Benzaclin for at least two or three years now and (in conjunction with my daily cleansing regimen) has worked wonders for me. I still experience occasional breakouts but they usually get put down in a few days and the cream helps dull the redness in the meantime. My doctor instructed me to apply it to my entire face, which makes sense as any given location on the face is prone to acne and can be considered "affected areas." It's hard to notice improvements since you see yourself in the mirror every day, but I started getting positive comments within the first two weeks of usage. Acne on the neck or below is a breed of it's own, so I can't comment on Benzaclin's effectiveness in those areas.

If this medication doesn't help, you may want to look into minocycline (100mg pill once a day/50mg pill twice a day) or benzoyl peroxide pads (such as ZoDerm Redi-Pads). It seems that every acne medication is capable of causing allergic reactions, so results may vary on each aforementioned product. Best of luck to you.

I'm on like day 30 of accutane. Working well for me so far.
