The Apple Discussion Thread - Page 194
Used to have slits for the buttons to stick through, but they added plastic button covers on the 7 case. They also added the apple logo to the back, used to be plain.
Don't expect to be blown away, but it fits well and has a low profile.
Unsure of any other company that is still at Apple's level - despite the complete lack of charisma after Jobs. Some make exploding phones, others make shitty tablets.
About damn time: http://www.macrumors.com/2016/09/28/late-october-macbook-pro/ Sucks Intel's latest and greatest won't be in it, but I'll be first in line regardless.
Is this due to Intel delays? Going to be in the market soon...don't have an urgent need, so wouldn't mind waiting a bit for perhaps the first update of the new Pro.
Anyone have experience with Apple's leather iPhone cases? I already asked Greenfrog about it and was wondering if anyone else has used them. I really like the look of the saddle brown case and have read it fits the phone like a glove. What I would like to know is the quality of the leather as Apple is not very transparent with the grade they use.
Figured you've probably seen the user video reviews of the saddle brown - here are 2 of them (after 2 months / after 8 months):
I had the blue leather case for my iPhone 6 - frayed and aged in a way that indicated somewhat cheaper leather. But the overall case design, resultant fit and phone protection were really solid. Was going to stay away from the leather case for the 7 plus, but became really drawn to the Saddle Brown color (paired with silver, but per videos also looks great with black), so took a chance.
Overall, I'm happy with the case. It's clearly not say a shell leather, but it's breaking in pretty nicely, aging similar to the videos posted, and think for the year or 2 I'll use it on this phone, it'll get the job done. The feel of it is a bit plasticy but I wonder if that's just the stretch/some coating they used that will wear down over time (and not an indicator of cheap-ness). At some point I will hit this case with some Saphir Renovateur as well, and hopefully that will help keep it in a decent spot. Obvious caveat: i've had this case on for about 2 weeks....
Be curious to hear from others / or if someone has some info on where Apple sourced the leather....
