Anyone have experience using a smartpen? I'm interested in the Neo smartpen N2 which was a kickstart project that launched a little while back. It allows you to write on paper and can transfer your doodles and notes to an app via your smartphone. Handwriting recognition too. There are other products in this category, but this one seems to be the highest quality while still being thin and light.

Notebooks they sell seem reasonably priced. The pocket version which is around the same size as the Fieldnotes I am used to using is $15 for five notebooks. They have a program to let you print out you own compatible paper too.

I'd be very interested in something like this if it works like advertised. Not having to type of notes after taking them seems like an ideal workflow solution.

No, but I read about the moleskine one today.

Yeah, that's what got me thinking about it since they use a rebranded version of the one I linked to. I'd probably get the Neo Smartpen over the Moleskin version, if just because I would be more confident they wouldn't try and restrict me to their own notebooks/paper.

I ordered a Phree. No idea how good it will be.

Is that the device that lets you write on any surface but requires you to attach another device to the surface?
No, I think it uses optical tracking in the pen to 'track' the pen movements over/on a surface and the info is sent over to your phone etc by bluetooth. I was vaguely interested in that but it didn't really offer that much over using a Samsung Galaxy note 5

This might be entirely false and in my head, but it seems like ever since I started using night shift on my phone and flux on my Mac (both at the same time), I've been getting much better sleep.

I used to sometimes wake up in the middle of the night, but now I get continuous sleep. Feels very good to wake up refreshed.

Actually, we'd both be wrong then. I fall asleep reading news on my iPad and I feel much better waking up with night shift. I usually only sleep from 2a to 6a, and it's been an awesome help.

I feel like night shift is helping too, but from my understanding there is very little evidence that toning down certain colors helps you sleep better.

I wonder if its psych or real. I definitely feel like I sleep better with it on my iPad.

My macbook charger finally bit the dust. These things are such pieces of shit and barely last 2 years.

Yep. My cable looks like it's degloved if it were in human terms. Wires and shit everywhere, though it was still functional like this for a good 5-6 months. Not sure what the outer wires were for.

I wouldn't be surprised. I fully expect these to last the lifetime of the computer under normal, reasonable use.

Unacceptable when they retail for $79.
