Anyone else notice that any older animated Gif's you have on your iPhone that get sent up to iCloud for storage no longer animate? It's not just iCloud as I've noticed the same issue with Dropbox. Once the Gif's are uploaded to the cloud and downloaded again they won't animate anymore. It's a bit of a pain as I like having some around on my phone. What is causing this?

Have you tried unchecking the optimize iphone storage option? Maybe it's compressing them and removing the animation.

I'm waiting anxiously for it too. Will go nicely with my retina iMac. What I've read about it sounds pretty impressive.

I'm still rocking a 2010 MBA and it's taken a massive performance hit from Yosemite. Battery life sucks, too -- 749 charge cycles and 78% battery health. Worst of all is the fan. It's like a goddamn jet engine when I watch videos and ****.

I'm most excited about the fanless design, TBH. Then the extra battery life, and then the retina display.

I've tried the rMBPs but they're just too heavy and bulky for me. Even the 13" didn't work for me so I ended up returning it.

Samsung just released a similar, fanless retina display laptop at CES with impressive battery life. Even thinner than the current MBAs so at least we know it's a feasible design / performance combo.

Hmm. That could be it. I'll check that out.

I guess you're not a gamer, so no issues with 'throttling'?
Not these days. I've considered installing a game just to see how it handles it, but I really don't even have anything that would test its capabilities. Despite the few complaints I've heard about throttling, I feel like the reviews for its gaming performance were pretty positive.

My laptop is a Dell XPS of about the same vintage. Maybe 2011. Always has had terrible battery life. An Apple laptop is the final piece of the puzzle needed to complete my transition to using Apple products across the board. The transition began in April of 2014 and started with an iPad.

I think it's a great machine, just some say that it's not performing to it's full abilities, gaming wise.

I'm going to wait until they make a 13" rMBA. I don't think I could go down to 12" from 13".

I witnessed a private transaction at Starbucks yesterday in which an iPhone 6, iCloud blocked with a cracked screen, sold for $200. I image that is the market value for parts. So much for the new security system slowing down theft.
