Just played with the iPad pro, pencil, and smart keyboard. Completely unimpressed and have no use for it for personal computing.

Could see myself using it for work but it def ain't no substitute for a laptop.

I think the Surface Pro, Yoga, etc. kill it in that segment. I'm not seeing where it's going. It's a MacBook Pro/Air without a real keyboard - well you can buy one, but it then it gets really close to the MBA in cost and size.

For work, Google and Microsoft don't care about Apple. I guess it can be an expensive Google Docs/365 device.

If you want a Wacom, just get a desktop and a...wait for it...Wacom. The niche for the iPad Pro is an illustrator on the go.

For that it's amazing and it's not worth upgrading just to have that. Well the 60 mins app is not outdated and can't load any content, and the new 60 mins app will not work on my 1st gen iPad. This sucks!

Ok, so since this post I made above, I found that a lot of other apps are useless now. This is a case of technology getting worse, not better. Think of how long a TV was useful decade after decade. My parents got a big screen TV in the mid 80s and it lasted well into the later 90s. It's not as if different channels became incompatible with the TV. Why can't this happen with tablets?

This is the same reason I felt forced to upgrade my phone. I just got frozen out of so many apps. I can understand that with games, but you get frozen out of apps that just let you see the news, or look at clothes.

The hardware and specs are actually quite nice on the iPad Pro. It's just that the overall package is severely limited by iOS. It either needs a more advanced OS of its own, or more advanced apps.

My designer friends are flipping out over the iPad Pro. They love it.

On vacation next week so I'll take a look at the iPad Pro while I'm in Chicago the end of the week.

Some half decent black friday deals on iPads going around this year. My mother is likely going to get the new iPad Air 2 at staples for $375 for the base model. She's been on the iPad 2 and it's been a mess lately. Tons of crashes, etc. Surprisingly, it looks like I'll be able to get her around $120 for it on eBay when she has me flip it.

Is it the Apple Store that has good deals or other resellers? Wouldn't mind picking up an iPad mini
post #2049 of 3201
Re-sellers. Apple hardly ever has competitive deals.

Where them sales at?

Played around with the iPad Pro whilst waiting at the airport. It's big, and not that heavy for the size but same old OS/ home page and seems a huge waste of the technology.

I spent time with the iPad Pro Saturday. Nice enough, but not something I'd use. Too big for my needs.

I don't feel like searching.  Anyone like the Apple watch?  "Someone" expressed interest in it today

I think the sport model is worth it if you get the $100 discount target is offering. Anything else is a waste.
