Just ordered a rosegold 6s for the g/f.  She is a total Apple fanboi...err...fangurl

Just got a Google Fi invite.

Was thinking about picking up a 6s for dat "actually fits in your hand" size, but the prospect of having Google as my mobile provider is kind of enticing.

Does anyone use third party lightning cables for charging their phones? I bought a 6 ft one from monoprice and it's MFI certified, meaning Apple gave it its stamp of approval.. but it doesn't charge my phone as quickly as an OEM one.

I use an iPad adaptor to charge my phones more quickly.. but it's 100% noticeably slower with the monoprice cable.

Does it have to do with the added length? I've experienced slower charging with longer cables. in the past compared an 8 inch cable and a 10 foot. 8" was much, much faster. And yes I purchased 5 iPhone 3" charger cables for $12 off eBay. Haven't noticed any difference

It might play a minuscule factor but nothing that I should be able to notice.

So fucking weird. With an oem cable and iPad adaptor my phone charges 1% every 45 seconds or so. With the mono price one, it's around 1% every 2-3 minutes, which is SLOWER than an oem cable and the traditional iPhone square adaptor.

If you want a really long cable, this one is supposed to be good: http://www.amazon.com/Aduro-Certified-Lightning-Connector-Packaging/dp/B00HZS0578/?subtag=WC24710&tag=thewire06-20&ascsubtag=WC24710

Otherwise, the Anker cables supposedly charge slightly faster than the apple cable and are available in 3ft and 6ft lenghts.

I can't imagine length has much to do with it though...I am no scientist, but I was a physics major for a little while. Probably has more to do with the gauge wire that is used and how it is braided/shielded.

What's the verdict on the Apple Watch from current users? My beloved Fitbit Surge seems to be dying, though I've owned it for only 9 months. Thinking of replacing it with an AW. Opinions?

Can't go wrong with the Sport edition. I don't think any other models are worth the money unless you're willing to shell extra dough for the look of the stainless steel casing and extra strap options it provides.

Ok, I'll look into this option. Thx.

True, and I won't lie, it's tempting. However, after reading comparisons of Fitbit to AW by owners of both, it seems that Fitbit provides more of the tracking that I want. I contacted Fitbit support and mine is now working properly. I'll hold on to it until the second gen of AW arrives with hopefully increased and better functionality.

Anyone know if they changed the glass from the 6 to the 6s? Have been carrying my 5 for 3+ years and the screen is almost perfect. ~6 months in to carrying my 6 for work and it looks like it's been run over by a car; major downgrade from what was on the 5.

That's strange. The glass is supposed to be stronger and more scratch resistant on the 6s.
