My girlfriend is on a 4 and it runs surprisingly well. I'd imagine a 4S still feels zippy.

totally. I toyed with the wife's 5S for a bit, and the biggest feature that I can see wanting is the video slow-mo option. Other than that, I'm good and I'll wait.

SAMSUNG!

skipping 5s unless my 5 breaks. I never get the S versions except the 4s I got because my 4's top sleep button broke. I'll buy the wife one for Christmas, though.

I do have an iPad air on hold to pickup tomorrow, though.

Jesus Christ do your fucking job and stimulate the economy by buying a goddamn 5S for yourself, you unpatriotic asshole.

So, to replace a 27: imac 11,1 (late 2009) with two extra 27" monitors, should I get a new imac, a new mac mini or gosh, even the mac pro. If I'm just going to be doing Microsoft Office stuff mostly, web browsing and movies/ music.
Mac Pro only if you do lotsa gaming, big databases, cgi, video/music editing, bitcoin mining etc. No other reason to buy one.

Why can't Apple manufacture a power cable that doesn't break open?

Wow, I didn't know it was possible to run three displays with OS X (iMac + two externals). That must be incredible.

Maybe it doesn't suit your needs, but I'd consider a Macbook Pro. Instead of 3 27" displays, you'd have 2 27-inchers plus one retina screen and the option of portability.

The earphones are my bane. One ear just went out today. I'm a sucker to keep buying them, but I like how they fit/how the control is designed.

Okay, so mac mini or imac? I'd considered the macbook pro option but I'm using a Surface Pro for the portability option (mostly for presentations and powerpoint on windows seems to offer more compatibility than ppt on osx) as well as the few occasions when some situation is 'windows only'. I'm not sure how having a MBP and it's relatively small screen will work if mostly used as a desktop option.

@ChetB I use the miniDVI to drive one monitor and a USB displayport adaptor to drive the other monitor. The first one is a 2550x1440 that I have in portrait mode though the old imac isn't driving it to it's full capability, thus thinking about upgrading, as well as getting some USB 3 ports.
