Parallax is the only thing that reduce motion turns off. Transitions are the same, homie.

Nah, breh. I forgot to mention, a new update came out for iOS 7 where the 'Reduce Motion' option kills transitions as well.

Downloaded that last night.

Everything seems to be running smoother and quicker on Mavericks, especially Safari. I'm very pleased.

Will hold off on buying another Mac laptop until a new design comes out.

I'm now getting 3 hours of battery life now instead of 2, which is nice.

Why use Safari instead of Chrome or FF?

This is great, thanks! Hadn't realized there was an update available.

Tags are turning out to be really useful. I like that Finder shows both iCloud and local docs when you click on a tag.

Until recently I pretty much ignored the "Save to iCloud" option but am now saving files to iCloud whenever possible. It eliminates the friction of organizing files locally and makes everything available on any device, no dragging to Dropbox required. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

It looks like I can sell my MBA on Gazelle for around $415 (paid over 2 grand for it brand new...) and use that towards a base 15" MBP. Sorely tempted. The battery life on my air sucks complete horse cock.

Edit: secured an offer for $473, but I have to send pictures of any dings / dents. If they approve it, I'm gonna do it!

retina display?
Yup. Obviously the sharpness is fucking fantastic, but I'm really digging the extra 2" (that's what she said) of screen space I get. It's like night and day.

nice. the screen is awesome. IMO it negates the additional size and weight disadvantage vs the Air.

Want to add some RAM to my MBP.

Mid 2010 15" with 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3. It looks like I can only add another 4.

Crucial sells this:

Part Number: CT3309361

  • Module Size: 8GB Kit (4GBx2)
  • Package: 204-pin SODIMM
  • Feature: DDR3 PC3-8500
  • Specs: DDR3 PC3-8500 • CL=7 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1066 • 1.35V • 512Meg x 64 • lead free • halogen free • for Mac

Any other options I should look into?

the screen really is fucking awesome. After using the new computer for a couple hours, my old mba feels like a chinese knock-off laptop.

The speakers are pretty good too.

i love this laptop inlove.gif
