^ Yeah. As long as the Redskins are the official name of the team, however, it seems really stupid to be deciding whether it can be used on air.

Except where satellite radio is concerned....

"The air" meaning public broadcasting frequencies. Read FCC v. Fox Television Stations, Inc 2009 and 20012 if you want the nitty gritty.

Not a Redskins fan so really don't care too much from that perspective. Just seems like a very silly thing for the government to waste its time on. Your opinion may differ and that's fine.

What would you suggest the FCC spend its time on? They're making a ruling based on a complaint filed on a product sold over communication medium. That's their mission.

^ Back to football and Brady having a crappy year since I don't see the point of continuing a debate over what I did not expect to be a super controversial comment.

Who would take the over / under for Brady's TD passes for the year if the metric is 1.5x Eli's interceptions?

this FCC vs. Redskins thing sounds like the football equivalent of getting Capone on mail fraud

What the hell was the Pats management thinking with this group of receivers? Did they really think Brady would turn these turds into gold?

With Gronk contantly injury plagued, wouldn't it have made sense to trade for a huge receiver?

Instead they've got:

Amendola, Edelman, Dobson, Tomkins

Pretty nuts. Wonder if they're finally starting to regret it

^ Really hope LaFell starts to get some more action. Lining up Edelman and Amendola as your 1 and 2 is just horrid. Seems like Thompkins and Dobson are inactive half the time too, but Thompkins at least shows a bit of potential when he plays.

Belichick's arrogance has finally caught with him. He thought that he could get rid of superstars who have passed their peak (e.g., Seymour, Moss), plug in any old player who had been taught the "Patriot Way," and keep on winning. Well, you need talent on the field to win, and the greatest schemes in the world can't make up for the lack of it.

Another blowout on TNF. Texans are next on the TNF against Andrew Luck. Not looking good for the Texans.

I've just heard the best name for an NFL player in the history of human language. Texans OLB Whitney Mercilus. Yes, it's pronounced "merciless".

I'm starting to wonder if the Rams have what it takes to be a Super Bowl contender this year. They are making too many mistakes (shooting themselves in the foot).

Whitney Mercilus is a pretty good NFL name.

But don't forget Ben Gay, who played recently, ( he put a hurt in his opponents ) and Fair Hooker who played in the 1970s ( he was for square deals ).

In NASCAR there is a Dick Trickle and in Soccer there is a Fabian Assman.
