NFL 2016-17 Thread - Page 262

FYI, the refs don't write the rules, the NFL competition committee does subject to change and adoption by the NFL owners. The problem with the catch rule is how it's written. There is no clear guidance on what it means which makes for inconsistent application by crews. Full time refs won't fix that.

 It was a joke.

But i do think that full time would be able to fix some of the inconstancies from one crew to another.

We know we're a spoiled fanbase when losing 2 in a row is considered "end of the world" but gosh, losing to Chip Kelly???

C'mon, man

Fucking embarrassing. I don't mind losing a game, but 35 unanswered points, 21 of which the other team scores on defense or special teams...

I liked the fight at the end, but we deserved to lose this one on that sorry display. We miss Edelman and Gronk (and Lewis).

And who wastes an awesome trick play for a game against the Eagles??? And of course the interception immediately afterwards pretty much hit the final nail in the coffin.

Only bright spot I could think of was White who went over 100 yards. Poor man's Shane Vereen/Dion Lewis

I loved that trick play.

PS - Since I no longer have ESPN (!) I'm excited to watch Washington play tonight at a neighborhood bar. Now I just have to choose one...

Keep scrolling down and you get to this headline:

"Johnny Manziel Hits Rock Bottom After Waking Up As Browns Starter For Third Time This Year"

Yeah, I saw that one the other day and it made me chuckle.

It's going to be interesting to see if Manziel can make it work in these last four games.

I think it's the right time to run the experiment. Cleveland is 2-10 right now. For Cleveland, if Manziel does well, you have a qb and can draft other positions you need. If he doesn't, you can safely move on and you still have the #1 overall pick and can take your next qb.

And can people give some respect to what Reggie McKenzie has done in Oakland? They've got a great nucleus that, barring injury, looks like its going to get better every year.

And by "interesting" you mean "hilarious" … correct? happy.gif

Johnny has a history of making big plays. Explosive plays matter a lot in NFL games.

What a difference a week makes. Perfect weekend for Patriots fans. NE gets a solid team win, Denver loses and Cincinnati loses.

Plus I'm also taking an inordinate amount of pleasure in Indy and Baltimore sucking (though Indy could still easily win their division with a losing record).

Seems to be a lot of cheering every time the Giants score. It's like a Notre Dame road game.
