Best sports writing on the Jets so far,

"When Vick, Harvin and Chris Johnson are on the field at the same time, it's like a buzzsaw of failure and disappointment that can spin at 500 revolutions per second. The Jets are now fast and talented enough to commit three or four critical mistakes per play. Vick has the athleticism to fumble, pick the ball up before anyone can react and then do something else that's ill-advised and regrettable before the whistle. All the Jets need now is to trade for DeSean Jackson; they will tear themselves apart breaking the sound barrier."

That was an oddly satisfying with Colt McCoy playing against the Cowboys.

Anytime the Cowboys lose is satisfying.

I'm guessing you've been enjoying the past 20 years?

that was literally a syrupy drama episode of Friday Night lights with the local texas kid making good in front of his straight out of a VIAGRA commercial parents in cowboy stadium.

Do Cowboys fans hate the Redskins as much as Redskins fans hate the Cowboys, or is it one of those one-way rivalries?

Both teams have sucked for 20 years, so it's not like there's some big relevance gap.

I've always viewed it as a second-tier rivalry (though I was born in '88 fwiw). But living in Virginia, I see a lot of anti-Cowboys license plates revolve.gif

It doesn't have the same impact as Ravens-Steelers, Manning-Brady type of games

Green Bay - Chicago??

Rams-Niners is another classic NFL rivalry.

The division rivalries are always the strongest because they see each other so much, and there's plenty of opportunity to revisit feuds and create bad blood.

Dolphins and Jets have sucked longer than the Cowboys, but whenever NYJ comes to town you can pencil in a few hundred drunken brawls and arrests.

Rams-Seahawks is a budding rivalry, friend

The Seahawks are Johnny-come-latelys so to speak. Plus the rivalry is so one-sided to where the Rams fans have an attitude of indifference.

Not really hatred from either side. Redskins-Cowboys is like a rivalry between two siblings who are very close in age. Each wants to beat the other badly, but there is underlying respect. Eagles and their fans, on the other hand, are like the blue-collar, asshole neighbor down the street. We just hate them.

Redskins-Cowboys started in the 1970s when George Allen was the Redskins' head coach, and got huge in the 1980s. There may be some NFL rivalries that are as good, but there are none that are better. Certainly better than Ravens-Steelers (which started in 1996) and Manning-Brady (which isn't really a rivalry because they don't play each other directly).
