@dcgEagles tearing it up. How you like it?

:slayer::slayer::slayer:

That was a fun one to watch. They don't have what it takes to win it all this year, but it's the most exciting time it's been to be an Eagles fan in a long while. Looking forward to seeing what they can do the rest of the year, and hoping they draft an entire new defensive backfield in rounds 1-4.

Only if he has a mobile QB. Bonus points of the QB builds a time machine, goes back in time and stops Eagles fans from booing Santa Claus.

I am skeptical that Kelly's offense would work without a ridiculous back like Shady.

I do. Chip himself has never said he needed a mobile QB. What he said was that he wants a QB who can make quick decisions and doesn't turn the ball over, and that's Foles. All coaches are going to want to bring in "their guys", but I think Chip is a smart coach who is capable of (and willing to) mold his system to the talents of his players, which is refreshing. This, after all, is a coach's job - on the other end of the spectrum, it was extremely frustrating to watch them run that Jim Washburn wide-9 bullshit when they had crap for middle linebackers and safeties. It doesn't (shouldn't?) take a genius to see that you're not going to be successful when you have a huge gap in the middle of your d-line with Casey Matthews at MLB and Nate Allen/Kurt Colemen at safety. That's an example of a coach looking only at his position and not worrying about how his coaching will affect the success of the greater team, and Chip would never put up with that.

There was a lot of talk pre-draft about the Eagles maybe taking Geno Smith at 4 overall, and I was strongly against it. My thought was that you draft an OL (which they did), let Foles start for the season (which eventually happened), and you see if he can cut it, or if you have to draft a QB in the next draft. Worst case, you find out what you have in Foles and you have a good line in place to protect the next guy. All that said, I never would have guessed that Foles would play as well as he has. I'm surprised he's not getting more attention nationally; I think he's the real deal.

i am not sold yet, but i think there is a solid chance he ends up an elite QB in the not too distant future.

Patriots played like legit contenders yesterday. They go to the conference champ.

Yeah, I think the Patriots beat the Bills next week in Foxboro to take the #2 seed, win their home playoff game and then we'll see. Denver will be tough (assuming that's who they play in the conference championship).

Overall I think the NFC is a much deeper conference this year.

Romo done for the season. Does this increase their chances against the Iggles?

Just heard that on the radio, and was wondering the same. I think that I really have to say that there's no way that his being out helps the Cowboys.

Sure it's 50-50 whether or not he would screw it up if he was at the helm, but I can't imagine that they're better off at this point without him.

Von Miller is out for the season with injury as well. AFC is a tossup.

I am very much choosing to downplay that, and say that everything will be fine without him.

I am posting this for L'Inc, because even though he thinks he's a Rams fan the Cardinals (who will now not be playing off) will always be the real St. Looey (St. Louis) team.
Also, because it's kinda funny. When you're a lifelong Steeler fan, schadenfreude is pretty much the only solace left these days.
