^ Yup. It's a QB's league. Last 20 SB MVPs, 12 have gone to QBs, 4 to defensive players, 3 to WRs, and 1 to a RB (Terrell Davis).

It should be mentioned that in TB12's presser today, the first thing he says after welcoming the Press is that James White should've been the MVP.

Also, Matt Ryan's QB rating was 144.1 in a losing effort. That's probably a feat that will never be topped.

He did choke on a critical possession, though, taking that sack that knocked them out of field goal range in the 4th.

I'd say Brady was less sharp than usual during the first three quarters and the drops (and receivers not making a few plays on 50/50 balls) didn't help. He missed some open receivers he normally hits, so I think there's enough blame to spread around.

This is worded much better and what I meant in my original post. I distinctly remember 2 huge passes that TB missed with open receivers that basically would've been points on the board plus the pick 6 really put his team in the hole. There weren't any plays I remember where I thought "man James White blew it" in terms of missed pass protection, dropped passes, or bad reads on his runs that really cost the Patriots.

They had to get Brady back for that time they gave Deion Branch the MVP.

I thought Brady deserved the MVP. Yes, I agree that he made one huge error with the pick six. He was overthrowing receivers but that's only remarkable because people expect him to have perfect accuracy every time.

But I thought I heard them say that he threw for the most yards in SB history even before OT. And it was really, really clear who was marching the Patriots to score 19 points in the 4th and win in OT.

James White played well, but let's be honest - he did what he was supposed to do. Punch it in from within the 5 three times. He did his job but I never once thought, man, James White is keeping his team in this game. Which is exactly what I thought for the entire second half watching TB and shaking my head

“You can decide to say that the game is out of reach,” Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels said after the game, “and start scrambling and going into a two-minute mode earlier than you really want to. At halftime, we definitely weren’t going to do that.”

Interesting. There is a reason this team has won 5, and might win a couple more in the next few year.
