National Hockey League 2013-2014 - Page 30

MacKinnon looked really good, tons of poise for an 18 year old. Stastny was clutch.

the Flyers/Rangers game was a lot of fun too. both teams looked a little on edge at first, and then settled in. Richards made the rookie mistakes pay, and that's what happened to the score.

B's/Wings tonight, can't wait. This time of year is so icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

about that Seabrook hit...

Seabrooke should know better after getting wallpapered by Wisniewski. Bad hit, but karma struck back.

MacKinnon is ridiculous. 7pts in 2 games and his performance last night was unreal. He's so damned fast.

I watched MacKinnon his last year in Halifax and his skill level was just off the charts. But the most noticeable thing was how easy he made it look. His skating stride is effortless and even his backchecking, though highly effective, looks smooth and controled. He's a phenom.

I see a few series going the to 6-7 but I think there will be a couple sweeps (Bolts and Kings) and a few will get bounced in five (Minny and Chicago).

The Sharks have looked unbeatable.

Tampa's luck in these playoffs has been just terrible

I think Chara could have decapitated Smith and he gave him an out, which was the honorable thing to do. Despite some opposing fans hate for him, he doesn't bother me much. I think he holds back a lot not to needlesly injure guys, actually. If he fought everyone who tried to scrap with him, there would be deaths on the ice.

Now Marchand and Lucic -- those two are total clowns.

someone needs to give Marchand a quick slug to the nose. Just aim for the body and wait for his nose to get in the way, pretty basic.

agreed about Chara though, he's a formidable opponent.

I will be interested to see how Chara hold up over the playoffs. He deteriorated noticeably towards the end of the playoffs last year, which is why I think it's important (maybe not critical, though) for the Bruins to avoid long series in the first two rounds. Chara is in great shape, but at his age and being his size, you start to feel it in the later rounds.

Edmonton be all butbut.gif about their drafting.

In no surprise, Bryzgalov benched.

Really shocked to see Quick having this tough of a time. I haven't been able to watch any games since I'm east coast.

lots of interesting results from last night. BJ's blew it in the third, MacKinnon was silenced, Cooke is done for a while, Robidas is gone, and Dallas brought it with a big shutout.

Quick reminds me of his Olympic self. He's made some ridiculous saves, and the ones he's getting beat on aren't entirely his fault, but it just seems like the Sharks are in his head. Overplaying pucks, not fighting through screens, etc. He's trying, but its not working.

Cooke is fucking garbage. I don't get how the NHLPA and the NHL can bicker over player safety when on one side, GM's are employing him, and on the other the PA is defending him. At some point, all of this talk of him being reformed needs to be contrasted with the fact that he's been responsible for multiple dirty and injurious hits in the last decade. No more benefit of the doubt for this asshole, please.

despite the road pummeling that the Kings received, i'm not really worried about them. they're a pretty hardy team, and we'll see how the momentum may shift as they come home.

(yes, feel free to quote this as needed should they be swept in the series)

Weird to see the Kings down three. I don't even think they're that bad of the team - the Sharks are playing really well.

Mackinnon is a stud at 18 years old. Hope Colorado gets Duchene back sooner than later - I think they could make a run this year, they have one of the best top 6's in the league & great goaltending.
