What's the price going to be on the museum calf gold double monks? Also, does anyone have any pics of shoes fully made up in this color?

I would be down for a shortwing blucher in the dark brown museum

Warning: that museum calf was with the old tannery, not the new one. Could be different now.

Hey guys,

Thanks for your patience! My apologies for the delay with this - I wanted to iron out all of the pricing and import procedure before we went live with these group buys. And I'm happy to say that we can offer better pricing on them smile.gif:

We put together three different makeups to get things started. There's been a lot of enthusiasm about museum calf, so the Gold Double Monk was a given.

VASS Group Buy Double Monk F-Last in Gold Museum Calf
Deposit: $410 / Final Price with Lasted Trees: $825

And the Alt Wien was our best-selling style in store and via individual MTO's, so we thought this would be a killer item to offer in Antic Cognac Shell...

Group Buy Alt Wien in Antic Cognac Shell Cordovan Deposit
Deposit: $525 / Final Price with Lasted Trees: $1050

And here's something special that we saw at the factory. There's been a lot of enthusiasm around the U-Cap design, and this customized version was a one-off piece that they were making for a specific customer. Note that arc of pinking and perforations to set it apart from the pack. This is going to be glorious in Dark Brown Museum Calf!

Group Buy Custom U-Cap F-Last in Brown Museum Calf Deposit
Deposit: $410 / Final Price with Lasted Trees: $825

As always, we'll be happy to answer any questions that you guys have on sizing and leathers. And we'd love to hear any suggestions for more styles!

BTW, I neglected to mention the 15% Discount offer here. We originally offered this during the MTO event two weeks ago and I said that it would apply to this first batch of group buy items as well. We now have the ability to assign personal discount codes through our site.

So, if you order a Group Buy shoe from this first batch of three styles, you'll be emailed a single use code for 15% off your next order with us. It applies to everything EXCEPT Vass shoes. It can apply to sale merchandise. The code is good for 30 days after its issued.

Can't wait to get the museum calf DMs...will post pics upon arrival. I also like how I will almost definitely get the finished product of these before I get the Aldens that were pre-ordered nearly 3 years ago smile.gif

Any pics of the Museum leather from the new source?
It's on the group order page.

Thanks, but I was referring to all of the Museum Colors. I don't see those.
I don't think those are up online yet. Try said they would post the color swatches a week or so ago, but I don't see them.

I'm waiting on actual leather swatches of the new Musuem Calf from VASS. Probably going to be a few weeks on that.

in terms of our group buys, Vass has advised that the "new" gold and dark brown museum calf is extremely close to the Ilcea skins, which are the ones pictured. So you can expect that the leathers shown in the group buys will be very close to what is pictured. With these kind of leathers, there's typically a good amount of tone variation from batch to batch anyway, even if it's from the same source.

But... from what I've been told there is a beautiful grey version of that skin! We'll certainly offer more group buys once the additional leather swatches come through.

Yes, to the grey!  For example, the u-tip in the grey, please, for those of us whose dress clothes stay on the black, grey, blue side of the spectrum.  A kind of stealth dress shoe -- a variation from black, but not too far.

Other thoughts:  the alt wein in suede -- snuff suede, for example.  Or a longwing tassel loafer in snuff suede or tan suede.  Some might think this old-fashioned, but on the right last and in suede, it might be a bit subversive.

The Alt Wein make-up you are offering now is a great looking shoe.
