So I am looking to add a stereo system into my store which the architect mentioned we could always add later...(dont get me started) and I am thinking that the easiest idea would be to purchase some wireless speakers and station them around the store.

Anyone have any good ideas as to what system I can use to add 5+ speakers in a large store without running cables?

Thanks.

Remember, even with wireless speakers you'd still need a power source; most of them still require you to plug them into the wall for power.

Not a problem, I would situate them near outlets.

The main issue is scalability, all those that I have seen seem to go up to 2.

I am looking for something that I can pt in a 6500 square foot store with a second floor. I figure 6-8 should work.

You lose significant sound quality in wireless speakers.

Both points are well taken and appreciated.

I just want happy sounding noise in the store when customers shop.

According to studies people shop better with music.

With ceiling mounted speakers, it should be relatively easy for any trained installer to run wiring. Wireless is a nice convenience but there are problems with it. Not only the loss of sound, but the signal works in a similar style to cordless phones. Although rare, drop-outs and signal loss do happen.

The wireless speakers these days should be fine and usually have no signal breaks.
It can be compared to wireless home phones. For as long as I can remember a wireless phone has never cut out on any of my calls.

Interesting, however i've never been in a high-end store with music playing.
