Also, now strongly considering Purple Tie. I see more red and yellow than purple

Amusingly enough, my partner, in love with the outdoors, has bought me hiking boots - he intends that we should hike somewhere in the Vancouver/Victoria area.

FWIW, the purple tie challenge, or the brown suit challenge sound fine to me - just not together (that WOULD be a challenge to pull it off well).

Makes me nostalgic. In my former career I used to jet around on international vacations three times a year! Alas, my heart just wasn't in the job anymore. Have fun in England and Italy!

I'm going to make the suggestion I always make, lol.

A context challenge. Give us a theme, or event, such as going to a nightclub, or the theater. Everyone wears something appropriate for that kind of venue or event and we vote, not just on the best fit, but on what makes sense in that context. For example, someone might look great in a three piece suit, but it wouldn't win if the context was "What would you wear to a nightclub".

Unhappily, no one pays me to be anywhere but in the office - my travels are self-financed, but I enjoy being in other places (such as London and Florence!).

I can't remember who said it, but there was a quote that said something like "The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." I believe this to be true even as I admit that living overseas only made me love America even more.

You'll enjoy hiking, crusty! I'll spend most of my time in Campania hiking around, and I have plans to spend less in clothes and start climbing volcanoes all over the world, should get me back in shape tounge.gif

I love the idea of a context challenge, though I was thinking more of aesthetic context. Using some item unrelated to clothing as a prop. Dressing to complement a tree in your yard or your favorite painting. Or holding something (I deliberately coordinated with a bottle of Sam Adams once) which works into the color scheme of your outfit.

It's either going to be this or purple tie.

Oh this could be fun, lol. Although might be kind of on the edge of in terms of being an actual clothing challenge, and turn into simple prop comedy.

Much like the actual democratic process.
