True. In the absence of an obvious link with the collection, it feels like a gratuitous name-dropping kinda thing that doesn't bring anything to the table.

Still, I remember Yang Li talking about music (probably the same stuff) in some old interview so it seems to be something of some importance to him and the format used here is not without reminding Raf's iconography. I think it's interesting, even if the end result is unconvincing.

agreed. I also admit that if I liked the music better, I probably wouldn't mind so much.

there are some clothes that show really obvious influences and others like this where I'd never get the association. i might also be way out of the target audience/demographic though.

^ why do I find that really pretentious and annoying?

Honestly, whenever I read anything like that my eyes glaze over. There's probably some interesting meaning there but I really CBF and the medium of the reference just doesn't seem...relevant if that makes sense.

Does anyone know where I could find a double face bomber in a size 44?

Interesting little piece from KTC, the producer of Li's technical outerwear pieces:

“What the mainstream see as performance wear lacks heart and soul,” he explains. “It is made by machine in massive quantities, that’s easily consumed. My ultimate brief is to inject heart and soul back into performance wear. Not just physical function in terms of protection for the wearer, but also an emotional response. Luxury should not be precious. It should be usable. The mixing of different conventions creates this emotional response.”
