Some of my favourites are the LM Ericsson Ericophones or "Cobras", even though they are a very bad practical design (very heavy, you can't put them down on the base without breaking the connection, etc.) Designed by Hugo Blomberg, Ralph Lysell and Gøsta Thames in 1954.

Those Cobra phones were curiously designed! One might have been tempted to hold the mouthpiece to the ear, rather than the other way around. A little bit perverse. Speaking of perverse: Joanne Woodward in John O'Hara's From the Terrace: 1960. One, sordid story.
