Looks like Greg already answered question #1 about the Pedaled jacket, and I agree with him there.

For the Rota question, I took these measurements off the dark brown heavy cotton twill trousers since we had both a 46 and 48 in those.

Measured laid flat, BiG style (2 inches below the crotch)

The 46 has a thigh of about 28cm or 11 inches

The 48 has a thigh of 29cm or about 11.4 inches

Hope this helps!

Thanks - very helpful, although unfortunately not in a way that will result in me buying some Rota trousers - afraid they are a bit too slim for me. Too bad, as they look fantastic :-(

Agreed. That is pretty slim for me too, unfortunately by a good inch or so. No Man Squats Alone :)

Sorry for the misunderstanding: these pants are indeed not made for squatting. They are only made to look good (Stitchy can demonstrate).

No doubt. They look amazing. I'm quite jealous.

i am pretty fat, and i did not find the rotas to be too slim at all.

the size 52 fits me very snug, a little snugger than the HY italian 38s, and the rota 54 fits wonderfully. i will actually probably have the waist and seat taken in a smidgen, but the thighs and legs are perfect. full enough to be comfy and slim enough to look great and sexy sleek.

thanks, edouard!

Keep in mind that the cotton Rotas have a bit of stretch, so the thigh measurement is slightly misleading. (Still don't work for me on account of my thunder thighs.)

Another good data point, though some of us seem to carry all of our weight in the butt and thighs :)

That would be me. So unfair.

Either way, glad to help out in anyway that I can.

Stitch, what's your US waist size usually, just for reference?

You would have looked much cooler using a driver's license. pB's life is basically a Swanberg/Baumbach/etc/etc movie.

Holy ****, I didn't think of that. That's a serious urban MacGyver trick.

a sturdy belt works great too. just use the non-buckle side. gets the attention of all the naked old men at gym as they floss their a-hole with the community towels

i am a true 38.

that being said, i just received my latest rotas, the light gray herringbone flannels, and i got one in a 52 and one in a 54. i measured flat across the waist and i am getting 18.5 inches on the 52's, which would be a 37 inch waist, and on the 54's i am getting 19.5 inches, which would be a 39. leaving me right smack in the middle.

as the flannels are a thicker type fabric to begin with, and my thighs are quite thunderous, after speaking with greg i think i will keep the 52's and take them out an inch, as i like the rise and how the upper leg and below feels. its just the top block of the waist and thigh by the fly and pockets that need a little loosening up.
