Alright, the price is so low on the taupe suede Heschung Malko boots now, I don't think I can resist any longer. I think an 11.5 will work for me, but I'm not sure. If I wear a 12C in Alden Barrie boots, would the 11.5 in Heschung work for me? I typically wear a narrow 12 in other shoes as well (sometimes 12.5 in a narrow width if it's a shorter last). There's no other sizes left that are even close to 11.5, and I know the offer was to exchange for a different size if these don't fit, but if these are too big or too small, am I stuck with them since there are no 12's or 11's in stock?

Thanks, looks like they fit tts, I wonder if I can pull it off wearing it a bit oversized... Damnit I just want that jacket!

One of the reasons I went with the oak brown was because the sizes on either side of my best guess at my size are still available. Hopefully they are still available if I need to swap.

I was really impressed with the suits though and it pains me that I'm a tough fit for trousers in general.

did you stop by at the very beginning before they sized up all the pants?

Just ordered the oak brown.  Reading quickly through the thread, the consensus seems to be 0.5 down from your standard US size

I would have been comfortable one more size up, with the understanding that it would be less snug.

It is such a beautiful piece (the materials are fantastic) that I think it would be worth wearing it a little big.

Stopped by after they sized them up. I tried on a few different sizes of pants just to see if any of them were doable and unfortunately they weren't -- just the wrong shape for me and tailoring wasn't going to fix it. The jacket was great though and I've been thinking about it since. If there was something like a hopsack blazer available, I'd be all over it.

My understanding (correct me if I'm wrong Greg, Edouard, or Kyle) is that you can exchange an item that doesn't fit for the same item in a different size or store credit. So in the worst-case scenario, you have a couple hundred dollars to spend on something else. If you can't find something to buy, time to quit StyleForum and take up another hobby.

Seems like 11.5 probably will work for me then, thanks.

And if this is true, then I have no issues getting them. Store credit at NMWA will probably be spent before the boots even make it back there if they didn't fit for whatever reason.

The Luigi Bianchi Mantova grey twill polo overcoat is definitely an eye catcher.

How is the sizing on that? I'm normally a 38R so should I go for the 48 or should I size up 1?

Do you remember yesterday when I said I was done spending money on clothes... but then I start rationalizing... so I've never owned a pair of Vass - and there may never be a better time to rectify that situation -  so I took care of that; and I actually already own a couple of Cantarelli sport coats (Linea 14/Carlo Barbera fabric) and I love them so I couldn't resist adding one more. Still tempted by the Formossa's, just wish the fit was slightly more dialed in.

I think the measurements tell the real story with it. It is trim, but not excessively so. I'm normally a 42L and I took a 54 for a comfortable, but not oversized fit. I'm wearing it over a bulky sweater today and it snugs it up a bit, but it is still comfortable.

Excuse the funny angle, I set the iPhone on my desk.

Gotcha - yes I remember now.

We can get anything made bespoke - Sartoria Formosa comes in for bespoke orders every 6-8 weeks.  All the fabrics are from existing books so that makes things simpler.

My dad has the beige herringbone one and says that people keep telling him how great the coat looks.  He's a little taken aback because he's always thought that he dresses well but doesn't usually get asked so much about a piece.  Great outerwear is like ties - can never get enough of them

It feels like they skipped a step. My best fitting suits all have shoulders that measure at 18.5 and chest at 21 inches. Admittedly, if the measurements work for you, it's an amazing opportunity.

It's a pity that you would think that 2mm on each side (assuming that garments are measured exactly the same way - which they never are) would make any difference in the fit of a jacket.  So much goes into the fit, including the amount of wadding at the shoulder, whether the shoulder is inset / spalla camicia or not, the back vs front cut, etc... that 2mm is for all intents and purposes insignificant.

If you plan on layering a sweater underneath, yes.  If you plan on wearing it on a shirt, then 46 would be better.
