We have 5 models from them, all made in Okayama :
- Shrink-to-fit unsanforized RARE in 15.5oz Ransei denim, with unique details like deerskin leather reinforcement, iron & copper rivets
- Regular straight cut jeans in 12 oz raw denim
- Regular straight cut jeans in 12 oz black denim
- Slim tapered jeans in 14 oz raw denim
- Slim tapered jeans in 12 oz black denim

I came across Big John a few years ago when I decided it would be fun to check out some Japanese denim and see what all the hubbub was about. I really liked the richness of their denim, they had a real nice hue to them and they are certainly well constructed. Good luck with the endeavor.

I'm new to this crew, but these trousers are just gorgeous. Tell me you're going to have some black shell boots to go with these??

I'm 5'10"ish, and wear a eu54, and I fit the size M Inis Sweaters. It all depends on how you want to wear these sweaters. XL was MASSIVE on me. a Large if you want to wear an undershirt and dress shirt like GDL is rocking there.

No black shell boots but I think these would do nicely with the Prince-of-Wales flannel suit

Perhaps with a cleaner look and a slimmer cut, like this one (which is for fall/winter):

I would be greatly interested in a linen jacket like these. Would be very useful in Florida, I have not found any similar jackets here...

Thanks. I agree - I think they do a very good job working with the local mills on perfecting half a dozen denims that look great and fade/age really nicely. We're also carrying some slim tapered chinos from them.

Thanks for your input. I am a bit surprised that you wear 54 suits and M size sweaters but every body is different. I wear 52 suits and almost consistently L.

Anyhow, hopefully the fit pic with my stats are somewhat helpful

Just need to undo a couple of buttons from the fly... OK, maybe three !

And when you eat too much burrata, your pants will stay on nicely - no pulling at the closure with 4 buttons !

I'm a little shy with raw denim, so I may chicken out and get a pair of 3Sixteens instead. Sorry. shog[1].gif

No apologies necessary.

What makes you shy about raw denim though?

The RARE are unsanforized and shrink-to-fit but the other 4 models are sanforized and fit won't move much

Yup. Look at the pieces of leather under the rivets.
