Trying to figure out my size in Rota trousers.
I wear a size 34 in Epaulet Walts.
Measurements are:
Waist - 35"
Thigh - 12.5"

What size would I be in Rota? 48 or 50?

Definitely 50.

I think you might need a 50 if not 52.
For reference, I have about a 33.5" waist. In trousers, I tend to take a 33 U.S. waist (although it could really be anywhere from a 32 to a 34, depending on how vanity-sized they are), and a 32 in jeans (can vary widely, obviously). In other Euro-sized trousers (Incotex, for instance) I 50 fits me best, sometimes with just a bit of taking in. A 48 will sometimes fit well in the seat but have to be let out a bit in the waist, although in brands that run trim a 48 may be too small.
Rota in 50 fits me quite well. I haven't tried on a 48, but given the good, trim fit of the 50 can't see sizing down. Since it sounds like you're just a bit bigger than me, I wouldn't recommend going smaller than a 50.

We don't have the Memory here, so I can't say with any certainty, but below are a few photos of me wearing it, as well as a few photos of me wearing my Merino. All are size 4. Camera angles are different in both, but it appears that the memory is a bit longer as it seems to hit at my knee, where the merino ends above my knee. I am 5'9" tall

With regards to the fabrics - weights, colors, fiber blends - be sure not to miss the forest for the trees! There are numerous reasons for different fiber blends, but my advice is to focus more on which coat in which color you would like to have. If you need some incentive to be adventurous, it might be helpful to read this fun post by David.
