Sizing question for Buttero sneaker,
I wear 7D TTS and 6.5D Alden barrie. What would be good size for Buttero?

Thx in advance!

You can buy them directly from Buttero for $40/set. Or you can buy them from a US based supplier for a lot less. For example: http://www.brettunsvillage.com/leather/laces.htm

I own one pair of Butter boots and one pair of sneakers. The leather laces in both pairs broke relatively soon after purchase. Agree with Patick on going the outsourcing route. Laces are stronger and can be cut to size.

7.5D US here. Tried the 39 and 40, neither fit due to my wider forefoot., but the 39 is the better length. You'd probably be ok with 39.

Thanks about the jacket, G and the squares, gyasih and Tweedyprof.

Baron, I saw that in high school w/ a friend. He fast forwarded to all the parts of most interest to boys that age, was still kind of disappointing. But maybe we were just spoiled. His dad had quite the collection.

It's probably still disappointing as Appreciation, but it's a great movie.

Since no one appears to want to discuss the attributes of the OS quilted jacket, I will further the digression: I first saw the movie at its theatrical opening with my older brother, who was in the film program at NYU at the time and was going to see as many films as he could, sometimes several a day. I was like, 13 or 14 at the time, and I found it both confusing and disturbing. Maybe he thought it was a cool thing for an older brother to do with a younger brother, like having a beer or smoking a joint. Or maybe he thought I was sophisticated for my age, and needed more exposure to "the arts", etc. Or it may simply have been that I was available as a viewing companion, I honestly don't remember the particulars. Regardless, I didn't get it, and it wasn't til a re-viewing some years later as a young adult that I was able to appreciate its artistry. Definitely not a movie for teenage boys looking for titillation. At least I don't think so.

Haigaiz,

ZOMG, in stitches here! My pal AJL asked me to intervene on his behalf since he's kind of a shmuck and I'm pretty much a bawsman around here. He figured I'd have a better shot at getting a response than him (pretty sharp for a shmuck. derp.)

Anywaze, he'd like to know about the OS arrow quilted jacket; sizewize he's a 38S in Formosa. Being as he's kind of a sawed off little runt, he's hoping the body and sleeves iznay too longzay. He's wondering why the thing appears so slept on since it looks like it could be amazaballs for cas layering. He's pretty sure he'd like to kop but needs the 411.

Er, guess thats errthang he wanted me to ask. Now gotta go do some kopping. Kop kop kop! HANJOY!!

This is funny, BTW. :)

My OS sizing adventures aren't likely to be too helpful, but here goes:
I am generally a size US 40. 50L in the one Formosa jacket I have and I bought the 52 in the Eidos field jacket.

Then for OS, I have the Alpha jersey in L, which I'd guess is my size. That's pretty fully cut and I'd even call the sleeves long for me. However, the multitweed blazer and quilted wool blazer I have are in 42 (which I'd consider one size up for me). These are both pretty cropped even at that size, so shorter bodies and shorter arms. So it all depends on which one the Arrow follows. I do agree that looks like a great piece and for the sale price it's got to be a no brainer.

Ok, how are you knuckleheads taking the buttero in 43? I'm size 11 US and both pairs of butteros I have are size 44. They fit me well out of the box so there was no break in period. I ask because there is a pair of canvas taninos in size 43 that may work.

Same boat. I'm feeling they are 1/2 size big at most so I can live with that rather sizing full size down to 43. Not a fan of the concept of breaking shoes in till they fit, particularly if they are a half size off. Never worked for me. Try it and let me know how it goes!
