(Well technically I did buy them in October and told her give them to me today, but that doesn't rhyme as well.)

Thoughtful wife. For some reason I got a butchering saw and butcher gloves to cut steaks from rib roasts for my birthday. Still scratching my head on that one.

Alright Greg, I couldn't resist any longer and decided to pull the trigger on the Heschung Taupe Malko boots and the funky EO TO TO blue crewneck to show some love on your more SW&D side of things. I get my menswear on 5 days of the week, so I'm looking for some more weekend love. I have no prior sizing experience for either so I took a risk with the no returns, but looked over the measurements and took note of other members sizing advice so my fingers are crossed that sizing works out.

Make my dice rolling pay off for me NMWA crew!

tonio - Hope everything fits. Good looking boots you chose! I am interested in your comparison of the Heschung and the Alden sizes.

Heard back from Peter on this. Basically it sounds like patterns used to be made this way to save fabric - having a rectangle sleeve pattern with a triangle sleeve insert for extra width in the upper arm was more economical than doing it in one piece. Also at the time fit wasn't a big issue. Merz b has a more modern sleeve fit, but designs them that way to honor the archetypal pattern.
