MTM...the pricing is too good to pass up on for the quality. This was my first Formosa MTM suit...the fit is very good...a couple minor tweaks on the next one and it will be perfect.

This certainly deserves more pics! Awesome ensemble all the way around.

Norwegian Rain S/S'17 Pre-Orders

Pre-orders are now closed (Click to show)

One of our favorite makers and discovery of the last couple years has been Norwegian Rain.  Incredibly talented people (both T-Michael and Alex) and a focus on making the best possible product, never cutting corners.  All the details make a ton of sense, they're functional and they're attractively designed as well.

We've been talking to them about warmer weather options for a bit now, and I was blown away when I saw some of the changes they made to the designs to make them functional in warm weather.

  1. First, they developed a new construction with a cool mesh fabric as base lining (instead of the warmer satin lining) that will let the wearer fully benefit from the technical membrane that breathes well (unlike traditional bonded fabrics). Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

  2. Then, they worked with their Japanese fabric manufacturer to develop a light weight (LW) version of their woven technical fabrics (190g instead of 245g), as well as a super lightweight (SLW) technical fabric (112g !!) that offers the same total rain protection (taped seams, membrane...) but wearable in summer temperatures.

  3. Uncompromised performance as they developed those lightweight fabrics:  water-proofness stats: water column 20,000mm (this means that you can fill a 1" wide column of water up to 65 feet high before water would begin to leak through!);  breathability 20,000 gr/m2/day.

Here's me trying on the Geneve coat in the SLW green fabric (sample is one size too small for me).

Light as a feather, all the incredible features that we're used to from Norwegian Rain (horn buttons, best hardware, removable hood, etc...) and a great matte technical fabric that drapes nicely.
:inlove:

We're offering 4 styles for pre-orders - all available in the same set of fabrics : LW denim or SLW in five colors:  Military Green, Navy Blue, Black, Sand or Grey

Last but NOT least, a new design for this season - inspired by and optimized for bicycling (both T-Michael and Alex are cyclists).  Split construction in the back and arms to allow air circulation,  convertible cuffs with a magnet closure, long back hem, accessible pockets... The whole nine yards.   Here shown in a regular winter weight fabric we're not offering for summer

@gdl203 no chance the current preorders come in before these close, right? Would love to have my size nailed down before potentially ordering again

Zero chance.   We'll stock a couple of styles in store too but it will be very limited.

Sizing is very straightforward though.  It becomes more complex in the winter when adding arctic liner, etc... but here, sizing is TTS across the board.  The sample I have on is an M and I need an L.
