no doubt. cept i never wear jeans. its a horrible struggle i live with.
Stitch, you just need to find the right pair for you. I didn't wear jeans for years and then stumbled upon a brand that worked well for me. Now I wear jeans most weekends.

The Mackintosh:
1000

That thing is awesome.

It makes me sad that I just bought a Barbour Liddesdale elsewhere because this looks about 1,000x nicer.

Quick, poorly lit, iPhone selfies on my way out of the office tonight:

Waist high shot:

Better elevation:

Fantastic coat.

I'll get better shots and say more this weekend.

Thanks for posting. I didn't realize that the coat was cut at the waist rather than mid-thigh.

Good to know.

The description for the roll necks says that they are made with "2/28 cashmere from Todd & Duncan". Does "2/28" mean 2-ply / 28 gauge (stitches per inch)?

2 = 2 ply (how many yarns)
28 = 28 meters per 1 g (measure of fineness of the yarn)

That's mighty fine. Thank you for the info. Will have to order one soon should customs go easy on me.

more of a community perception issue than finding the right pair issue. :(

As others have mentioned, this jacket looks pretty awesome as worn by Frank. I would have never considered something like this before, but I'm certainly considering it now after seeing Frank's pics.

How warm is this jacket? Is it suitable for the winter (as in Minnesota winter)? Or is it more of a fall jacket?

I am not 100% sure what you are referencing, but I was born and raised in Charm City. I didn't buy my first pair of jeans until moving to Boston

frank looks fantastic

got my eye on the grey one how to size for a 40?

I bought the 40 for myself. I wear a sport/suit jacket with shoulders around 17.5/17.75 and the 40 in this Mackintosh feels good both with and without a light sweater. There's more room in the body than my equivalent shoulder-sized jacket, but that makes sense.

I've admired quilted jackets like this and really liked the color on this one. Figured I'd give it a shot and I'm very pleased on first impressions.

The jacket itself is not very heavy or thick, so then the warmth is going to be a function of the the insulation and layering. I don't know if it's up to prolonged outside time in Minnesota in winter, but it could well work for a commute. It did feel nicely windproof yesterday and it has the advantage of the double breasted buttoning and the big turn-up collar too.The pockets are very generously sized too and seem to have the same quilted wool as the shell inside.

Got it. I do get back there...you can never truly leave Charm City, it always sucks you back in.
