Sell your current one and get in on the Formosa. It's what PCK would want you to do anyways.

Always the problem solver

DB would be amazing, but Id still say this will be best in a SBed peak lapel.

So we just restocked the navy birdseye Sartoria Formosa suit in a number of sizes. The fabric we originally used ran out entirely so we found the closest possible substitute in a navy birdseye from Lanificio Drago, which looks completely similar but a little softer and slightly lighter than the Carnet Piccadilly one (10 vs 11 oz).

Still waiting for a few more to come in but almost all sizes are now in stock. We also restocked most sizes in the grey flannel and grey sharkskin suits. As you know, we usually have no more than one per size, so if you want one, better act quickly or wait 6 months for another restock

Greg you are making this difficult. Compared to the giacca MTO pricing (and by no means do I grouse about that... worth every penny), RTW Formosa suit is like getting trousers for free.

Someone go find the post I just made about not ever wearing suits and smugly quote it for me.

Or better yet buy the navy birdseye in 50L and that settles it.

:lookaround:

Most famous on SF, yes.

I think the implication here is that Formosa is best known for their peak DB, not that they are nec. the ne plus ultra among all peak lapel DB suit makers (not that they aren't...).

I like Formosa, and have no doubt that they're great tailors. I just find it amusing that every iGent now repeats "Formosa makes the best DBs!!" like it's a well known industry fact. Talk of Formosa's unsurpassed skill with DBs all started with a throwaway comment by Michael Alden on LL quite a few years ago.

So can @gdl203 make an aside about how their Peak SB are better than their DB please?

I don't think this is true. That may be the original source for the Internet talk but I am pretty sure I remember Gennaro saying something about it the first time I met with him. And I doubt he has ever read LL or SF.

I don't think the SB is in jeopardy. I'm the one who brought up DB's and I'm not even in on this order. It's still SB, I just wanted to make sure you guys knew you were missing out.

IMO the rounded Neapolitan silhouette is better as a SB notch than as a SB peak. I think the SB peak is better with a leaner and perhaps more squared of silhouette
