These are cool. Good travel fabric, imo, taper is nice, and lots of room in the thighs.

Greg or Kyle, do you recommend taking the same size in both the Delgado and the Willard?

Yeah, I would recommend the same size but note that the Willard doesn't have as aggressive of a taper.

In this transitional season (which is btw very exciting for the future Valstar, starting with an awesome upcoming FW16 collection), we only received two styles from Valstar :  the Dermit trench in bonded linen/cotton with taped seams that was designed in collaboration with United Arrows.  Two colors : deep brown and navy

Nice. I was just thinking that I needed to find a good S/S trench. And people kindly solved my wavering between navy and brown by grabbing the brown 46's lightning quick. Navy ordered.

Also, Valstar changed hands last summer and FW16 will be the first collection under new ownership. You will notice a lot of changes in the styles and design direction.

The new owner is another men's garment manufacturer and they have more resources on the design and development side.  They're taking the brand into a more modern realm while trying to keep the DNA (particularly emphasizing the original rainwear history).  So you'll see classic wool, tweeds and suede fabrics on the outside but with better performance construction (membrane bonding, taped seams) on the inside to make the garment a bit lighter and more wearable in various conditions.

The designing is more purposeful and coherent, rather than a collection of cool fabrics.   There's a logical set of pieces from shorter bombers to trenches, in a thought-out color palette.  It feels like a collection.

We weren't disappointed at all.

I hope valstar is keeping their awesome field/safari jacket. I bought the eidos one last year, not the valstar, but still hope to pick up the valstar one at some point. Cotton linen raincoat is pretty awesome, though

We'll see what they have in mind for spring.  There was no safari jacket for fall/winter, but plenty of other good stuff - I think we bought 6 or 7 styles
