If I'm a pretty good fit in Inis Meain L gainsay sweaters, would I be a 42 or 44 in the Jamieson's shetland? I thought 42, but with the recent advice to size up, I'm unsure...

These are the tobacco Irish linen. Yes, we'd recommend 44

Was this a dumb question? Not sure how the fit is intended.

Trying to figure a 39 or 40 for a 6'1" 38.5" chest 18" shoulders dude.

M actually and lambswool. I wish I got a L, but I still wear this one quite a bit.

I'd say size it using shoulders, for reference I wear 38 in Inglese and 38 in Camoshita

Thanks.

But when the first size offered is a 39, I think its a size small.

I'm normally a medium shirt so I'm a bit lost on this shirt.

From this season the smallest size is 39 - up until last season, it was 38
