The difference in the shoulder width is only 1cm so I think I'd rather go for the bigger size and just bring in the waist if I it feels like it needs to be done (if that's even possible on this type of jacket).

I would stick with size 50 if I were you. That's what I did. The field jacket is designed to be worn over a size 50 jacket or substantial sweater. The size 52 will be way too large, particularly in the sleeves (which are already on the long side).

As for the color of the hardware, I don't know, sorry

The fabric would be closest to this unless that's actually the charcoal and the photos just came out sort of dark. I can't confirm if this is the case or not http://postimg.org/image/mwn0poo15/

For an exact color photo, the vest below is made up in garment-dyed black. It's uh.. black

Thank you for the quick responses. I'm glad I asked before blindly ordering the 52. I always have a hard time with measurements. The only thing I am sure of is what my wife assures me is 8". uhoh.gif

Was there ever confirmation on this?

I think 38L is model size, so it would be surprising if they couldn't do it.

Would this be the same recommendation for a HJ?

Going by the measurements, I'd say yes. HJ has bigger shoulders but smaller chest than a FJ in the same size, which means it's not meant to be worn over something thick, and the extra room in the shoulders is probably for movement.

the eidos field jacket and hunting jacket should be taken in the same size as your normal suit size.

Grabbed Navy "donegal" nailhead field jacket, 340g wool. Now the wait begins.

Just received the La Portegna Sol brown Fat Carter briefcase from NMWA for my birthday - have been wanting it for an absolute age and in person it is quite simply stunning - couldn't be happier....

Your response wasnt directed to me but I don't own a suit. If I order a 630 g HJ, should I keep the same size as the Burgundy 340g FJ I just ordered? I'd be wearing over a sweater and/ or shirt. Not a suit.

My Burgundy was a 48.

Thanks.

@NickPollica can you clarify the fit of a 44S, firstly if it is available and would the sizing be similar to a 46 Bloomingdale's Eidos suit?
