Anyone into the navy structured wool Conservation? I feel like nobody has mentioned it, but I kind of dig it.

^ this brings a question I have for the tie wearers in this thread. Stefano and Paola Bigi are always asking me why we get their ties cut in 9 cm width, arguing that most men want 8 cm.

So my questions are :
(1) for those who already buy Bigi ties from us: do you prefer 9 or 8? Would you still get them if 8 cm?
(2) for those who don't buy Bigi ties from us: is the width a reason? Would you prefer 8 cm?

I don't buy them because they are too wide.

8.5 would be great

I strongly prefer 9, but just bought some Calabrese in 8.5 and I'll see if that small delta bothers me, but I won't go below 8.5, I know that. Everyone has their quirks...

I, too, prefer 8.5 to 9. I like the 9cm Bigi ties. I think they go very well with your wider lapel-ed offerings. Drakes 8cm ties with Formosa lapels can look rather skimpy.

I'm not a huge consumer, only 2 Bigis, but I do prefer the 9cm (most of my jackets have fairly wide lapels). I'm not sure 8cm would stop me from purchasing them if I loved a pattern/fabric, I still buy your Drakes offerings after all, but it would completely eliminate that width of tie from your store. You already have plenty of 8cm (Drakes, Sozzi, Post Imperial) and 8.5cm (TYT and Calabrese) ties, I like having the 9cm offering from your shop as I'm inclined to go wider than skinnier if all else is equal.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Keep it coming.

So far, it seems like 9cm guys wouldn't mind 8.5 and that those who don't buy because they're too wide would be ok with 8.5 as well? It may be the right common ground to make everyone collectively happier

Our Bigi ties don't sell well so I'm trying to decide if I should buy a lot less of them or try to adjust width and see if it helps. I like these guys a lot so I want to support them but need to find a solution.

Except Don, Don would be a little sadder.

Would 8.5 really change much for you?
Honestly, I totally forgot the ties were all different widths and just bought the patterns I liked.

I don't buy enough to make a difference, I was just teasing really. If the pattern/fabric is the same, I would buy a 9cm over an 8.5cm, but yeah, obviously if I love a pattern that minimal difference is not going to stop me, it's simply a preference (especially since it's the only 9cm tie you sell).
