being in Europe won't be able to try and return back, and anyway with shrink-to-fit it might be hard to understand on first try if they fit...

For reference i am wearing
- 3sixteen jeans size 32, which are ~89 cm measured around waist before washing, fits quite comfortable if not a tiny bit loose
- Epaulet rivet chinos size 32, ~85 cm measured around waist after many washes, quite tight fit

definitely do not want nut-busting fit - what size better to order for comfortable fit ?

are the measurements on the web-site pre or post-shrink ?

Did niche easy pants ever make it onto the site? I seem to remember Kyle previewing them awhile back. I think they were supposed to be a navy corduroy?

You may have already picked your size, but I will chime in here since I'm a fan of Big John and the Rare. Standard caveats apply (i.e. I am only a random, anonymous internet opinion wink.gif). But here you go:

I have the Rare regular straight fit in a size 33, and after a cold soak and then, after some wear, a cold wash and hang dry the waist wears at between 88 and 89 cm for me. This is comfortable and not at all tight.

I wear a 35 Epaulet Rivet old fit, and I'd likely wear the 34 in the new fit. I wear a 34 in Epaulet Walts.

The other Big John I have is size 32 in the slim straight.

Only 3sixteen I have are the Kibatas, which are also shrink to fit so I'm not sure how they'd compare to what you have. But I went with advice to size those at a 34 and that has worked out for me.

I'm generally aiming for a sanforized denim waist size of just under or just over 34 inches, with the idea that they will stretch to fit from there to work for a 35ish measured waist. I prefer a reasonably relaxed fit.

My guess is that you'd want the 32 in these.

Hope the Rares work out for you. Really great denim and, as I mentioned once before, a really thoughtfully put together pair of jeans.

They should really change the non-fit pics. Front looks like he is wearing diapers or some sort of stuffing, back ... well does not look "comfortable", unless one enjoys this kind of ride-up AET feeling.

I think it's gonna look like that at the start because the denim is quite stiff. Once it softens up with wear it'll look much better

That combined with the inseam being pretty long makes the pants look like they're riding much higher than they actually sit.

Don't get me wrong. Big fan of Big John, have the off-whites denims and a black HB shirt. Loving both and wear them to death. Just saying those pics aren't the best marketing. wink.gif

Yup, this is it - raw denim, and especially unsanforized, will always wear very awkardly on the body at the beginning.  Wish there was a way to make it look cool, but for that you have to go to the after shots
