While we're talking about Formosa pre-orders, anyone want to start a conversation about preorders for F/W 2016?  I know it's a long way out, but I'm saving for the elusive, perfect green donegal tweed SC, and would love to have it featured as a GMTO through No Man Walks Alone if there are other interested parties.

We talked about it here, but nothing came of it to my knowledge: http://www.styleforum.net/t/436076/no-man-walks-alone-x-sartoria-formosa-operation-giacca-fall-winter-finalists

Sorry if this is too early or derailing the conversation about S/S 2016.

the one at the show was a 44

Super boring, but I'd love a charcoal/dark grey Formosa in a 9/10 oz cloth.

I have a 44 and 46 with 44 likely going back in the next day or two. You can either buy it from me or keep your eyes peeled for the return

@chickenfark that sweater looks really good in that fit.

And @Mr. Six, so something brown or green you're saying...?

Really all those look good. I may be in the market here, but I'm just a yes man. I'm going to leave it to the fabric book savants to produce a list. It's always a good one.

Though I might just go for this burgundy shown incidentally to the brown:
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

It comes with a free bowl of soup right?

Seriously, though, I like it.

It doesn't have the silk facings and trouser braid, but it has peak lapels, jetted pockets, and is made in a fabric more elegant than typical business suiting - darker, and with a slight sheen. So you can wear it to all the events that call for "cocktail attire" or whatever without being the only one in black tie. You can also easily wear it with a long tie rather than it requiring a bow tie.

I went looking through the fabric books, at first thinking I would choose something with a bit of mohair or silk mixed in, but eventually chose this 100% wool fabric from Holland and Sherry's Black Tie book instead. It's heavy enough to tailor well and be worn three seasons most places. It's a deep midnight blue (a little darker than the photos show) and has a bit of luster that shows up in artificial light:

Let's have a show of hands for this one, either in the thread or by PM or email (david at nomanwalksalone dot com).

I will revive my earlier push for a suit that can transition easily into evening.

I would be very interested in this as well- dark gray, 8/9 or 9/10 oz worsted would work for me almost year round. Nailhead, sharkskin, or plain worsted would be great.

I threw in a navy swatch at the end! ... But yes.

Not sure if this has already been posted, but NYT has an article about Japanese denim and included some old adverts from Big John.

Trying to decide between Navan and Mist for IM tunic...

@gdl203

This is Ardee (navy)

Navan is black

Is the linen crew neck a more delicate, refined item or something I can wear into the apocalypse? I generally avoid what's in between.
