Raw silk? You just said the magic words.

Oh we have raw silk ties now... :)

I have signed up, cant wait to see the full store.

Well, to be fair, you've seen most of it now. The live store will be the same stuff I've been showing here with a shopping cart function (so that one can actually buy the stuff!)

I appreciate the neutral lighting and detail of your photos Greg. It gives me confidence that I am seeing the true color and texture.

Thanks G !

It is very hard to get the "right" color (especially because different computer screens render colors differently) but we try our best to color-correct everything - looking at the picture on the screen (factory settings) and the product right next to it. Some colors are very hard to capture correctly - oxblood boxcalf is a perfect example.

There is no B&M store but I'm happy to arrange some private shopping appointments for SFers in NYC who would like to see or try things on. Since we're not a store or client-facing location, the setting isn't glamorous - we're essentially a stock room - but as long as that's the expectation, no one should be disappointed.

I admit I haven't been following this thread closely but somehow, I was under the impression that there would be B&M store. So you are going to be selling online only? Are there any plans to open a store?

No there are no plans for a B&M store at this point. That may change in the future but right now it's online only + some trunk shows

I felt that I should comment on Buttero sneaker sizing here. The sneakers are built on the Serena sole, the same as Common Projects, so the "footprint" is similar". The toebox on the Butteros is slightly more shallow, and the leather heavier, then on Common Projects, so they fit slightly smaller, but I am the same size in both, a size 43. I have about 20 pairs of common Projects, and 5 pairs of Butteros (lows, highs, and Chukkas), and find the sizing comparable between the two brands. I am a size 44 in Margiela German Army trainers, for those who want that comparison.

Thanks for these thoughts on sizing LA Guy. Greg advised Buttero's may run a bit snug, but I'm guessing I'd take the same size as my CPs in any event. Are you a fairly solid US 10 then in most shoes?

And damn...20 CPs? I thought my 4 were enough (since they aren't cheap).

I am a size 11 in athletic footwear, and between a size 10.5-11 in most other footwear. In general, the most common advice is to "size down one" for Common Projects, and I feel that the same is probably good advice for Buttero sneakers. fwiw,. I am wearing a pair of high tops right now, and they fit about the same as my high top Common Projects. They are thicker leather, and thus more stiff, but they are also unpadded and unlined, while most models of Common projects have a lining. The shape of your foot, as Greg said, also matters. I have fallen arches and a wide forefoot.

Cool, thanks. I'm a solid US 11, and while my CPs at 44 aren't snug, they don't seem too big either. Going down to a 43 would definitely be the wrong size. I'm an 11.5 in Nikes, so my foot seems to be slightly bigger than yours. Perhaps a better fit would come with a half size down in the CPs, which aren't available. Given all that, I'll try the Butteros in a 44 - should offer a nice snugger fit. Thanks for the point of comparison bro.
