Doppiaa suit and Ikiji knit
View attachment 2156857

One of you unfortunate sods grabbed this suit in one of the smaller sizes and don't wear it. Buying it caused needless strain to your marriage. Your wife was right. You are irresponsible and refuse to grow up. You could have paid for two credits of your son/daughter's sociology degree at Penn (State) with that money.

Sell it to your friend. Me, I am your friend. Go be a partner to your wife.

Greg spilled the beans on this weeks drop but I can at least give a taste of what specifically landed.

Our first delivery from De bonne Facture is a tight selection with a few honeycomb polos and a trio of pieces in a lovely washed blue Belgian linen.

We've stocked this navy blue one in the past so we had to bring it back, but this season sees the addition of a new sienna color:

Which is just lovely and styles really well with the cream colored trousers there.

First Belgian linen piece is the two pocket overshirt with those gently curving flaps

The easy pants are a no-brainer of course but I'm quite keen on the idea of the shorts as a set-up with the shirt worn open:

That with some loafers or espadrilles would be spot-on for me.

IKIJI is always dear to me, and is a brand that makes me feel a little more put-together when I wear their stuff, but in a way that I'm still happy to carry on with my day with no fuss. It's a good feeling.

Let's start with the molded pieces, which are one of their signatures. These are 3D knit and then the parts that do need to be stitched together are done so with a twin plover seam, a way of making it very flat and almost disappearing. What all this means is that these are deceptively anatomical garments and can be worn with no real fabric tension anywhere.

IKIJI SS24 - 8.jpg

We've got a few pieces in this wonderful ivory silk and linen that has a beautiful natural color to it, starting with the three button jacket above and moving into:

IKIJI_Made_in_Japan_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Molded_polo_in_ivory_silk_and_linen (7).jpg IKIJI SS24 - 9.jpg

A polo, of course.

But also a new vest that should be a lot of fun to style. The flatness of it all really is quite unique and is part of what steers everything toward that "put together" vibe I was getting at earlier.

But how's this for a travel jacket? Molded but this time in a navy linen and rayon.

Shirts!

IKIJI SS24 - 7.jpg

We've had stuff in their 100% linen jersey before and it's really quite a unique fabric. Aside from being low maintenance, it has this quality where it both has a high-quality sheen to it but also a really rough looking texture with a melange of colors. I have the natural colored tee from a few years back and because of that split personality it plays well with a lot of different styles and fabrics. Like, the sheen is a good counter to rougher things like seersucker but the mixed texture complements super flat stuff like some cottons or wools. Case in point, the gent above pairing the green one with navy linen/rayon (same as the jacket in the previous post, nudge nudge) blouson and trousers.

IKIJI_Made_in_Japan_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Short_sleeve_t-shirt_in_charcoal_linen_jersey (6).jpg

The grey jersey also makes an appearance in tee form, as do:

IKIJI_Made_in_Japan_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Short_sleeve_pocket_tee_in_black_Japanese_paper_(r...jpg IKIJI_Made_in_Japan_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Short_sleeve_pocket_tee_in_white_Japanese_paper_(r...jpg IKIJI_Made_in_Japan_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Short_sleeve_pocket_tee_in_navy_Japanese_paper_(re...jpg

IKIJI SS24 - 6.jpg

Restocks of the paper pocket tees. I'm just going to step away from the keyboard for this one because like 1/3rd of my time in this thread during the spring and summer is already spent raving about paper tees.

IKIJI_Made_in_Japan_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Recovery_t-shirt_in_slate_grey_cotton_and_rayon (5).jpg

Continuing with tees, this is their new recovery tee, 90% cotton, 10% rayon, and super premium to the touch.

IKIJI_Made_in_Japan_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Striped_pocket_tee_in_white_and_indigo_cotton (6).jpg IKIJI_Made_in_Japan_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Striped_pocket_tee_in_white_and_indigo_cotton (4).jpg IKIJI SS24 - 4.jpg

The last tee is a really nice take on the border stripe. Between the variation in the white stripe and the satin finish of the cotton, IKIJI themselves describe this fabric as "expressive" and I'm inclined to agree.

IKIJI_Made_in_Japan_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Popover_shirt_in_light_blue_linen_and_rayon_guaze ...jpg IKIJI_Made_in_Japan_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Popover_shirt_in_light_blue_linen_and_rayon_guaze ...jpg

IKIJI SS24 - 5.jpg

Ok, back to collared shirts with this new popover in a heavily puckered linen and rayon, meant to keep as cool as possible in the heat. Great shape, too, with some heavy-duty pleats in the back.

IKIJI_Made_in_Japan_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Short_sleeve_shirt_in_peach_linen_and_rayon_gauze ...jpg

Same fabric, different shape, great color. I love the tonal buttons on this one.

IKIJI SS24 - 3.jpg IKIJI SS24 - 2.jpg

Gotta love some linen herringbone, but note that the guys above are wearing the side tab trousers in the same fabric while we're stocking a wider leg version for some extra summer breeze.

IKIJI_Made_in_Japan_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Pleated_easy_pants_in_espresso_linen_and_rayon_twi...jpg IKIJI_Made_in_Japan_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Pleated_easy_pants_in_espresso_linen_and_rayon_twi...jpg

If you're looking for something more tapered though, we have these easy pants in a linen and rayon twill, same as that first blue jacket.

Lastly, a spring version of their legendary hoodie but in a "super 3" cotton, a name for a combination of Suvin and Giza. Of course an IKIJI hoodie is made out of the nicest cotton. Of course.

3sixteen comes through with bits and pieces as the season goes on, but this week is a pretty good chunk which is nice to see come together.

3sixteen SS24 - 5.jpg
3sixteen_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Officer_Shirt_in_Rust (8).jpg 3sixteen_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Fatigue_Pant_in_Rust (9).jpg 3sixteen_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Fatigue_Pant_in_Rust (3).jpg

Awesome new rust color in HBT for the officer shirt and fatigue pants. Obviously both good on their own but it's cool to see the set-up in the lookbook in a decidedly non workwear way.

3sixteen SS24 - 2.jpg

3sixteen_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Classic_Cardigan_in_Seafoam_Domino_cotton (8).jpg

Absolutely killer domino stitch cardigan in the perfect seafoam green pima cotton and baby alpaca. To me this is really good rockabilly without veering towards costume (a theme we'll see a lot with this drop)

3sixteen_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Knit_polo_in_Natural_Marled_Yarn (6).jpg 3sixteen_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Knit_polo_in_Natural_Marled_Yarn (8).jpg

The model above is also wearing the skipper polo with it in a really interesting natural melange

3sixteen_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Knit_T-shirt_in_Natural_Marled_Yarn (7).jpg

Which happens to also be perfect for a tee. I love the athletic style collar and trim on this, again going for that 50s thing.

3sixteen SS24 - 3.jpg

3sixteen_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Resort_Shirt_in_Seafoam_Rattan (7).jpg

Some more seafoam green, more rockabilly vibes, cut in rattan!

3sixteen_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Cabana_Shirt_in_Natural_Rope_Cloth (7).jpg 3sixteen_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Cabana_Shirt_in_Natural_Rope_Cloth (9).jpg

Great collar on this cabana shirt, in a really special raw silk. Very unique but not unique in a weird way. Just cool.

3sixteen SS24 - 4.jpg 3sixteen SS24 - 6.jpg 3sixteen_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Easy_Pant_in_Alabaster (8).jpg

Lastly, some cotton/linen easy pants. What's not to love!

We should all guess if Newc is going to leave us hanging. My guess: The peach Ikiji camp collar.

I appreciated @MeatFish 's copy for the seafoam green 3sixteen shirt, but I'll leave it as a surprise for later.
