Define similar:p they'll fit but different aesthetics
post #5327 of 6279
hard to say - i'm not at all scientific about fits, but notice i do well with EU52 out of italy in general - caruso, boglioli, RLBL, etc. one thing that is always a bit off is the shoulder; i always have shoulder dimples (although usually only on one side). i got an eidos suit from trunk, and it's so far my best-fitting suit, so i'm hoping the shoulder/drape or whatever one calls it will be similar. one day i will invest in a bespoke suit and make sure to follow the measurements so i can better judge these things..

I've seen comments that the Bloomies IT46 is actually an IT46S, which would be a bit short for me. Thanks!

Also, has anyone bought this in person, and if so any thoughts? http://www1.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/eidos-chocolate-brown-slim-fit-suit-100-bloomingdales-exclusive?ID=1572801&CategoryID=#fn=spp%3D35

I bought that brown suit from Bloomingdales - terrific off-the-rack fit, outstanding material. It is a casual suit that is perfect for weddings or more casual events, and the blazer/trousers can be worn separately for increased versatility. I do wish it was in a different fit with wider lapels and 3-roll-2, but the Balthazar fits me the best.

Boom, thanks for feedback.

I found it TTS. i.e. i wear a 52R in the Tipo/NMWA/Balthazar and took a 52R in the raincoat. Alas I didn't keep it because it wasn't quite what I was looking for. Got the navy one instead and have been pretty happy with it..

Gentlemen,

If you live near a Nordstrom Rack, you may want to stop by. There were 4 or 5 jackets at my local store just in from the main stores or Hautelook on the clearance rack (extra 25% off right now) and none of them were marked higher than $279. Nothing in my size sadly, but thought I'd pass it along. If anyone spots something truly special or truly cheap in a 38/48, think of me fondly...

So, I stopped by the Rack again on the off chance that they put something out in my size. While that didnt happen, I thought I would do a good deed for one of my SF brothers. I picked up the below jacket with the intention of passing it on to any interested member here. Color is hard to capture in pictures, but its a brown/ grey/ green, completely unstructured, in size 54 (44), 53% silk, 27% linen, 10% cotton. The price was $249, so with tax and $10 shipping, $275 sends it to the home of the first person to pm me. Hopefully this provides me a bit of good kharma :)

Edit: Found a link to the Nordstrom site for the jacket- http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/eidos-napoli-melange-unstructured-silk-blend-sport-coat/4224998

To put how good of a deal this is into perspective - that fabric is from Lanificio Ferla and runs about 100 dollars a meter in the open market.

Big ups to @bdavro23 for making that offer! Several sizes off for me, but a damn nice gesture to be sure. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif
