Haha, seriously. I had good luck last year - not so much this year. I think that's mostly a function of the Eidos name getting bigger and more popular.

Last year there were so many staple items kicking around at like 50-75% off and this year it was closer to what you see in other brands - just the outliers that are less versatile and such.

Gentlemen, ive been looking at this suit however, i can't seem to think and where and when i would wear it.
My gf says shes on the fence about it,i guess bc of the price $457,it seems like a good deal, what do you guys think, also its made of cupro, any experience with that? Thanks in advance for any responses.

I looked at that suit also. The price seems too good to pass, but I personally find the pattern too bold and too memorable. If I wear it to the office ( although not sure I can pul it off in my office) I probably won't be able to wear it for at least a month. Personally, I would not wear this suit often enough to justify owning it.

There's a reason it's heavily discounted. I would pass.

I imagine cupro only refers to the lining?  I'd find it odd that the entire suit is made of it, but I could be wrong.

I'd agree with other posters.  It's one thing if you find a suit and it happens to be one of a few odd sizes left at a steep discount, but it's another if it is available in basically every size.

Then again, get it if you'll wear it.  The EIDOS suits do sometimes creep down to $360 [+$50 back in loyalist] at times, and I think this suit was that price a week or two ago in store.  I could be wrong about this specific one though.

That is the classic navy window wool flannel from vitale barberis canonico. Its one same same fabric card as the gray "agnelli" flannel that everyone knows and loves. Whats funny is that its actually sold really well in stores. I think the large size offering has more to do with how poorly it is styled in the photo than its versatility because that fabric is incredibly easy to casualize. The jacket looks great with a cashmere crewneck, tee shirt and jeans. The suit looks great with a turtleneck. At that price (which is bananas), I would think of it more as a sport jacket that comes with a free matching pair of pants that you can wear if you feel so inclined.

Oh - interesting and a good point about it at that price point.  I must have missed it in stores!  Is that the tipo cut or the newer one?

It's navy? Looks like shiny bright purple fabric in the photo, hence my comment

Its navy with a natural deco. Do you really think I would sell a store a purple windowpane suit?

Its a balthazar.

Antonio,

I noticed some of the Bloomie's models are 3r2. Are those still Balthazar? (I thought those were all two-button)

Fresh from Marc's phone ........

(but first, directly from his mouth to me, All regular priced Eidos goods are currently 25% off. This includes tailoring AND basics........ AND here's the kicker, "What's key is that basic navy and charcoal are 25 off for the first time in two years. They never go on sale.")

I jumped on this fact last week, got both navy and charcoal (hey why not?) should be here tomorrow. Interested to see the cut - Tipo with true 3r2 lapel. Wider than the Balthazar, prob less prominent than the NMWA cut.
