But we need him to inspire the mortals.

I'm hoping not. That was a bit of a travesty last time. I think both Claps and Clags had better fits, though Tira certainly was well represented himself. But after Claps posted a link over there, it went haywire here and Tira got 14 odd votes in under 2 hours. Never looked back.

Exactly my thoughts. No disrespect for Tira, but I was under the impression that the idea was to work the concept of the week in to a fit without looking out of place. I'm not sure how DC has so few votes as his is subtle, yet still a crazy shoe in my eyes. Not sure how white dotted shoes or leopard print shoes get so many votes. I think the spectators and UC's boots are within range.

Again, no disrespect as I'm not bashing, was just unaware of the core idea of the Friday Challenge.

it was not x-posted this time. i think that was off maybe, but i wouldnt call it a travesty. then again, i wasnt the one who saw victory slip away in the final minutes. either way, all of SF has teh right to voat, all is fair in love and war and internet contests.

also, did you really just refer to yourself in 3rd person? really?

It actually would have ended in a tie with Claps, and I would have ceded the tie as Claps had a superior fit and I voted for myself--and deliberately did not vote for Claps as I thought his fit was the one outduel mine.

In principle, I have no problem with them voting. It's only an issue though when they've got an association with a single member of the contest. There was nothing particularly SWD about Tira's look last time, but he got their votes because he'd built a relationship with them. It's not Tira's fault. Nor should it reflect poorly on his victory.

Imagine a CBD contest with StanVanB. SVB can probably rock CBD well enough, but not as well as quite a few posters here. Word gets out SVB is in a contest here and an hour later he'll be 100 votes in the lead. Did anything wrong happen? No. That's just the way democracy works, and it has it's dangers

Enough bellyaching, boys. People vote for what they like, not necessarily what best embodies the spirit of the challenge. You didn't see me moaning when my *actually* CBD fit lost the CBD challenge to a fit that wasn't CBD, did you? It goes how it goes.

As for Tira's win, a strong argument could be made that he successfully used a much bolder shirt in his fit, and the greater degree of difficulty was recognized.

Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

The last two posts of mine weren't belly-aching. They were actual inquiries in to what constitutes as correct material for the challenge.

Either way, I'll stop posting in these Friday threads unless I actually have a good fit to post. I realize neither the thread or I am gaining anything from my posts. I don't like what they've become, that's my business. Carry on and have fun.

(let the 'yes please' posts inevitably ensue)

I welcome your posts which state your preferences in the poll and explain why you chose them. In line with that, critiques of other submissions which don't meet the criteria or are not pleasing to you are similarly welcome.

Complaints about an influx of SWD partisans throwing the poll for one of their own, however, are bellyaching. If that doesn't apply to you, then I was not addressing you. smile.gif

I just did, though.

I would have voted for clapeyron, but with him doing something French instead of competing I voted for T. Sigh. I always vote for T. One! More! Week! One! More! Week!

Yeah rules stated that the fit needed to be current. So I ran hors d'oeuvre.

Clags - y u no answer my question about you talking about yourself using 3rd person tense. I want to CT you "queen clags."
Clapey - thanks for posting your fit anyway. Even if I can't vote for it, I enjoyed seeing it.
