It's from a tone deaf ad for Obamacare http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2013/12/opinion-rich-lowry-obamacare-affordable-care-act-pajama-boy-an-insufferable-man-child-101304

They could have just shown a MacBook on a coffee table and he would have been a tech nerd instead an inkblot for how people feel about Millennials.

Calling it an inkblot implies that there's disagreement about what people see when looking at the picture...

Reading that picture as "annoying Millennial hipster" is reasonable. The stuff in the Politico article is silly, and reads more like a cranky old timer critiquing the younger generation. A picture of someone in silly pajamas means they're a man-child who can't possibly be self-reliant and responsible? K.

Boarding a TTC bus and hearing the driver mansplaining to a slightly uncomfortable already in her body young girl that she can't possibly be 12 because she's too big and too tall and yet its so obvious by her face that she is and she's obviously embarrassed and he's telling her no one will believe her and that she must stand out at her school. Well i just had to step in and stop the body shaming.

You honestly believe this happened or happened remotely as told? Anything that starts with "mansplaining" is probably a big fat lie coming out of a bit fat fish mouth (nods to B.)

NorCal forgot narrative over fact, number one rule of feminism

Bonus points for "If men really wanted . . ." with the implicit assumption that we all conspire to think identically and want all the same things. (Of course, gay guys only get 3/5 of a vote when official policy is being set, and FtM transgenders are only allowed to audit the meetings.) Because I'm sure this author would have no problem with one of her male colleagues writing something like, "If women really wanted workplace equality . . . "

Although she's clearly right. Men have no incentive to see a male birth control pill developed. Because all men want to leave their financial and familial fates entirely up to their sexual partners.

"Imagine a world where biological research is subject to gender equality!"

That's a bizarre article because she's complaining that nobody is developing male contraceptives after leading with the fact that researchers are announcing a breakthrough in male contraceptive along with other failed/delayed prior announcements.

Biological research is hard. Some problems are easier than others. It turns out that it's easier to suppress ovulation than sperm generation. Once you have one good-enough birth control solution, it's hard to go back to the drawing board and invest in the much harder alternatives. It's not some sexist conspiracy. All the stuff about gender roles and parenting has nothing to do with anything.
