I'd even settle for an equal amount of scorn directed at China, which treats its Muslims far worse.
Come on, Dad, you're better than that. All that does is open up an easy avenue for me to compare and contrast the kidnap/murder rates for black on white crime versus white on black crime. You know how that would go. Then we'd get the mouthbreathers swarming in here.

Er, yeah. And it's notable leftists like David Duke. I do agree with your observation about scope ,but -- correlation, causation, etc.

And lack of consistency may indicate ignorance, laziness, and the like, but doesn't necessarily indicate lack of subjective sincerity.
Folks who made their FB profiles all French-flaggy probably were, for the most part, feeling genuinely sympathetic or indignant about the tragedy visited on Parisians last November. The fact that I saw very few profiles in the colors of the flags of, say, Nigeria, Turkey, Burkina Faso, Indonesia, or Mali after brutal terrorist attacks in those countries might support a number of different conclusions, but I'm not sure it really says that people who said they felt sad for Parisians didn't really mean it.

You make fine points, but this is particularly interesting if you consider the news coverage of the various events. Paris (and now Brussels) will be constant, 24-hour reporting of every detail for the next 24-48+ hours, while the others were perhaps a column in the international news section ...

(of course I'm assuming most of your FB buddies are not located in those general areas)

I wasn't sure which white Americans were being lynched by leftists, but then I realized you're referring to the lynchings that took place at Duke and UVA campuses.

No, I meant Robert Bork.

Chinese women show off being thin by posing behind A4 paper.  Proceed to get thin shamed:

I was definitely thinking of a different orientation for the piece of paper.

I think it's been well established in this thread that women of the other orientation are less likely to be able to hide behind a normal-sized sheet of paper.

Putting this here as it's the first place I ever came across the concept of "trigger warning."

http://www.infowars.com/dozens-of-college-students-triggered-after-trump-2016-written-in-chalk/

TL;DRN = someone wrote "Trump 2016" in chalk on some sidewalk at Emory and multiple students suffered from "triggering."
Quote:
Wagner reassured the students that the university was “committed to an environment where the open expression of ideas and open, vigorous debate and speech are valued, promoted and encouraged.”
“Was it really just a message about a political preference, a candidate preference, or was it a harsher message?” Wagner asked. “And I will tell you, those who met with me were genuine in their concerns that it was the latter.”

Yes, we value free thought except when that thought upsets us. Obviously the phrase "Trump 2016" contains a "harsher message."

Even Gawker wrote an article about how stupid these kids getting triggered by chalk are.

Thank you for the Gawker info. Even more precious:

“I’m supposed to feel comfortable and safe [here],” one student said. “But this man is being supported by students on our campus and our administration shows that they, by their silence, support it as well … I don’t deserve to feel afraid at my school,” she added.

OMG! Someone doesn't want the same idiot I do as President! How shall I navigate the fact there are people different than me at school?

Accuse them of opinion rape?

I made a T Shirt with the slogan,

RESPECT MY WHITE PRIVILEGE, BITCH

and wore it on campus.

The students collapsed, foaming at the mouth, convulsing.

A good time was had by all.

I'm going to start using "I don't deserve" before a lot of things I don't like as though that is relevant to anything.

I always wince when someone from a school or social media platform starts talking about their commitment to free speech and open debate, because I know what's coming next.

but only by limiting this person's free speech can we protect free speech for everyone.
