It's not just the college kids. It's the professors, the administrations, even my own church. I'd believe the whole "it's human rights" nonsense if Leftists were consistent about it. As in, they applied the same vitriol to other countries with far worse human rights records. Like, I don't know, Cuba, maybe. I'd even settle for an equal amount of scorn directed at China, which treats its Muslims far worse.
Come on, Dad, you're better than that. All that does is open up an easy avenue for me to compare and contrast the kidnap/murder rates for black on white crime versus white on black crime. You know how that would go. Then we'd get the mouthbreathers swarming in here.
Er, yeah. And it's notable leftists like David Duke. I do agree with your observation about scope ,but -- correlation, causation, etc.
And lack of consistency may indicate ignorance, laziness, and the like, but doesn't necessarily indicate lack of subjective sincerity.
Folks who made their FB profiles all French-flaggy probably were, for the most part, feeling genuinely sympathetic or indignant about the tragedy visited on Parisians last November. The fact that I saw very few profiles in the colors of the flags of, say, Nigeria, Turkey, Burkina Faso, Indonesia, or Mali after brutal terrorist attacks in those countries might support a number of different conclusions, but I'm not sure it really says that people who said they felt sad for Parisians didn't really mean it.
