yesterday (the book), based on a rec from Tucker Max, of all people. Suprise: it's pretty good. Not at all what I expected. Apparently, she believes in the biological differences between men and women, and this alone made me 10000% more open to her views....
I read one of her books -- The Beauty Myth
, I think -- about a million years ago. My reaction was pretty much that. Like most talking heads, she does a lot of extrapolating and conclusion-assuming, so she ends up spouting a bunch of crap. But based on what I read, she's neither stupid nor completely batshit crazy, and she can write intelligibly. Like a lot of these folks, she starts with some generally valid or at least arguable points and then tries to expand them into theories and conclusions well beyond what they will reasonably bear.
