Yeah, I looked that one up also to confirm that commonly held belief. As far as equal chance, eh, maybe. But even if so, I don't think the word is any better: "the term was originally applied to the children of Non-Muslim (often Christian) slaves or Non-Muslim children who were captured in a war and were raised by Muslims to follow their religion and culture." It might actually be worse.

I am guessing mestizo, castizo, morisca are also considered offensive by all the extra-sensitive half-breeds

Keep the genocidal dickhead who didn't even believe in paper money but get rid of the most influential Secretary of the Treasury ever.

We still use pennies, you think they're getting rid of cash entirely in five more years?

My in-laws won't even use credit cards. They roll around with like a grand in their wallet at all times. Silly Antedeluvians.

Jackson was strongly opposed to the US Central Bank, especially by its power to issue paper money in place of gold and silver. Hamilton (the guy currently on the $10 and to be replaced), was a big advocate for a central bank.

It's always been weirdly ironic that Jackson is on one of the most widely circulated US bills. Doubly ironic that Hamilton gets the boot and Jackson stays.

I don't feel like digging into this, but it seems like we've gone through a very long period of minimal changes in our bills and currency. We've made some minor changes to the nickle, the 50 states quarters, the dollar coin but nobody uses those anyway, but the general designs have all stayed the same. Seems like the current set of designs has been around longer than normal, like back to the 1950s. Maybe people are so resistant to change because we've been seen any in our lifetimes.

Well, Washington didn't want to be on currency either.

I'm glad to hear that they've decided on the sex of the person to appear on the new bill. Any word yet on when they'll decide the race?

After they decide that, plus age, maybe height, then they can start putting together a list of candidates. Looking forward to it!

They should replace Hamilton with Madison. He was kind of small like a woman. Close enough.

Tough nuggets. You want to not be memorialized be president no. 2.

I personally think we should keep it to Presidents and Founding Fathers.

Every time I get one of those Sacagewea coins as change, mostly from some sort of vending machine, it always gives me a few seconds pause before I remember that it's actual real money.

We should just cut to the chase and put Hillary on there.
