For fuck's sake.

Your response leads me to believe that you believe what you're saying. So I'll narrow my judgement down to stupid.

Show me an audit of any U.S. election. Oh wait, we don't do those.

How many dead people in the US are receiving social security checks?

How many people that have been dead for 10 years are receiving social security checks?

If you don't have to present ID, how hard is it to say "I'm John Doe," when John Doe is your neighbor who doesn't vote?

Have there been any proven cases of voter fraud?

If you see one cockroach, is it the only cockroach?

Is it hard to get an ID? Is it expensive to get an ID? Do you need an ID to buy beer? Do you need an ID to board flight? Do you need an ID to complete any number of government related functions? What % of registered voters don't have an ID? What percentage of people that want to vote can't reasonably get an ID?

Don't be a fucking moron. It may be too late, in your case. The only reason to be against voter ID is to be for voter fraud.

After years of successful gerrymandering and manipulation of the process that have led us to age of PACs you worry about voter fraud ?

It's possible for people to honestly disagree about the voter ID issue. But this proves you really are a fucking liar, moron, and troll.*

But I'm sure you won't respond because -- as you've repeatedly and vociferously told us -- you don't care what anyone here thinks of you.

*Perhaps a racist as well. It is not subject to reasonable dispute that voter ID requirements are sometimes designed, and sometimes (mis)applied, because they reduce the number of votes from traditionally poor and disenfranchised segments of the population. Often, the motivations are more partisan than racial in origin, given the historical voting patterns of the demographics affected. But the fact that this effect will occur is known, often intended, and deliberately leveraged is indisputable.

I have many witty and insightful comments to make about requiring voters, alive or dead, citizen or not, to present a form of identification before casting multiple votes.

But this gettin' all serious up in har. (Again, blame The Wire for the linguistic flavor today).

So you think the hurdles to getting an ID are too high? Welcome to the moron club.

I'm against ID laws because I don't believe IDs should be mandatory. IDs are stupid. And half the time they're fake, even when they're state issued.

If you're responding to me rather than Lighthouse, nice attempt to change the precise subject in order to step away from your moronic lying and characteristically failed attempt to be clever. And thanks, but I'll decline your invitation to join your circle jerk club.

Now I'm going to waste a workday scanning threads to see how you work "Hamsterdam" into a conversation.

The problem is it is a fairly difficult thing to catch and prosecute. The danger is likely overblown, but in close elections, it could swing the results.

You do realize that Voter ID laws wouldn't actually stop felons from trying to vote? Polling places don't have lists of ineligible voters. If a felon, that is one currently on parole or probation as those who have completed their sentence regain their eligibility to vote, wants to break the law to vote he could do so even if required to provide an ID.

As far as your assertion that the number of ineligible felons voting was greater than the margin of victory, all subsequent investigations by both local journalists and law enforcement disprove that.

The grievance industry is in full swing, fueled by fabricated "injustices" that drown out cases of actual injustice. Ignoring this might be possible if it weren't for the fact that grievances are a national platform on which the left runs.

It is naive to assume that a national, legislative acceptance of gay marriage is going to stop at that. The next step will be to use government to punish businesses, individuals, and eventually religious institutions who do not accommodate this lifestyle in every way possible (some of which is already happening).

But perhaps I am naive because I support gay marriage on the premise of live and let live.

Like I said, stop creating fake, prejudiced, dickhead problems and you won't hear people complain so vociferously.

What are the downsides of requiring an ID to vote? From what I hear:

1) Poor people can't afford an ID (despite the fact that they can afford other non-necessities, and in some cases IDs would be issued for free)
2) Poor people don't have a means of transportation to go get an ID (yet they've managed to acquire food and other goods)
3) It's racist to require everyone to do the same thing, regardless of their race

JFC I hate the Voter ID conversation in the US. Both sides are entirely made up of disingenuous fucking morons...how's that? I say that as clearly one of the goals of the right is to use them to suppress minority turnout and clearly the left has their heads up their asses when they try and make out voter ID laws are something peculiar to the desires of the US right when many countries, including Western countries, have some form of voter ID laws.
