IMO there is not a total lack of truth in that statement. Now, I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but it certainly isn't something often acknowledged in feminist writings either.
Power in corporate/professional society I would say, attractive women already have an insane amount of power in other arenas. It is definitely true that unattractive to average-looking women are much more keen on 'climbing' the social ladder than the really attractive ones, for obvious reasons. It's really counterproductive though I would say- by getting all embittered and trying to thrash around with males in the professional world, they're just demonstrating all the more their insecurity and anxiety about their identity.
