Conne, looking out for ya. Be careful.

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2014/06/11/authorities-wealthy-men-drugged-scammed-by-nyc-strippers/

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) – A crew of New York City strippers scammed wealthy men by spiking their drinks with illegal synthetic drugs, then driving them to strip clubs that ran up tens of thousands of dollars on their credit cards while they were too wasted to stop it, authorities said Wednesday.

A banker and a real estate attorney were among four victims who lost at least $200,000. None was identified by name in court papers.

Well with that tape it would be sort of hard not to charge her I would think. What type of mindset lets you think can assault someone like that because they're doing something completely legal but that you dislike? Such entitlement. Additionally apparently the kid was not even legally perv'ing. He's been an RC nut since nine and had way too much elevation to be creeping and was just taking panoramic shots.

That's an interesting cultural commentary, on several levels.

Most related to this thread is her obvious sense of entitlement to assault men who she views as "perverts," despite not being physical threats.

The whole idea of "perverts" in that sense is interesting. There's a movement to shift the morality of modesty from blaming the displayer to blaming the viewer. The Facebook/Tumblr feminists seem to want women to be able to wear whatever they want, but men be restricted from viewing them in any way that might make them uncomfortable.

Anyone have commentary on how this dynamic plays out in other countries? What would happen if a guy was caught looking at woman on a beach in Europe? Culturally acceptable, or no?

That is an excellent observation.

Beaches are a bit of a weird cultural testing zone. In the US anyway, it's culturally acceptable for women to wear much less than they would otherwise, they're mostly comfortable doing so, but many are not comfortable being looked at by men in that situation (much less photographed). The men are mostly looking out of sexual interest. I presume some of this is because those sights aren't common in public, but also just the "men like looking at attractive women" element. It's not necessarily "sexualized", but it's certainly driven by that general interest.

I'm curious how this plays out in other cultures. I've been to the beach in a number of countries (including some where toplessness is common), but I'm bringing my own mentality along with me so it's hard to say. Some places (Miami comes to mind), it seems like most women are simply more comfortable being on display. Are there really places where men just aren't driven to eyeball attractive women who aren't wearing much clothing?

This is only tangentially related but I was talking to a UAV tech once who told me that every time they are in the field they get Joes doing obscene things at the drones. I bet some of those pictures are hilarious.

that boy showed an amazing amount of restraint. clearly the right move as he looks to be on top of any future legal proceeding, but i wonder how many people (men or women) would have just knocked the fuck out of her after getting assaulted repeatedly and asking her to stop

i'm sure LE could take a look at the photos he took to see if any of them were arguably pervy. and i'm still confused about what kind of pics you can take that are different from what is in plain view on a beach. i have a thousand pictures of beaches and there are women in bikinis in a lot of them (it's impossible to take a picture of friends and family or an interesting landmark on a crowded beach without getting strangers in the shot)

Interesting point. It's also telling that this woman thinks she is more worthy of being photographed than a beautiful beach and the ocean.

This is an interesting conversation, and I mean that earnestly, but when are we going to address the real issue here: How many years in prison are warranted by being that asshole who doesn't turn your phone sideways to properly capture video?

I'm thinking 10 for a first offense, but maybe I'm just soft on crime.
