Think about it, poor economy, Orwellian surveillance state, asshole cops.

Do you think America will be around in 10-20 years?

Sure, Britain's a good 30 years ahead of us in the Police State game and they're still kicking. Oh sure, places like NY will probably be intolerable in a decade, but North Dakota's got a long time to last before the government watches you while you poop up there.

Somehow I don't think this is a 100% serious answer.

I think that the "police state" issue is the last of our problems. but, yes, America has jumped the shark. it won't be an issue of 25 years, but I don't think that the US has 100 years in its present configuration.

Totally serious. There's a very different way of life in rural and midwestern America than there is in the cities and on the coasts.

Read a funny quote about the irony of how it's always the most privileged class in the richest society in the most materially advanced age in the history of the world to claim that everything is or has gone down the toilet.

Yeah, I mean I totally yearn for the days when our national economy was fueled by hereditary slavery. And then, after that, that glorious stretch of racial segregation.

We're going to be fine.

Perhaps we should all kill ourselves. You first. I promise I will as soon as I know you have made it peacefully into that good night.

I love living here, having lived in several other countries, I'm thrilled at the way the US is run. the only thing that could make it better would be more police and prisons.
