Stunning. In fact, I want one. Would you mind terribly if I sent you a PM to find out more about how you ordered?

Sure, but I pretty much explained the process on the first page. Contact, get price, wire transfer, receive suit.

Wow, surprised to see the fuss over "Ring Jacket".  as their stuff is fairly standard for Japanese suiting. having seen their department stores. many Japanese companies offer just as good cut, and detailing.   still good to see it getting some love though.

What are these Japanese brands that offer the same quality, fit and price as Ring that are available here in the US?

Just bought two RJ suits in Tokyo. One at their flagship Aoyama store and the other one at Isetan. It's much cheaper than buying it at any other retailer in the world.

I also saw some of their productions for Beams and that's a pretty good value for money at roughly 500/600 euros for a suit.

"These" Brands are Beams, and of course- Yohji Yamamoto. there are others. and everything is available online.

I expect a lot from a suit, and some of the no-name suits in japan left me amazed at the quality for the price.

also, it is possible to have a suit tailored from scratch for around $800-$1000.usd.   the bottom line is: a shop will bring a good product that is new to it's market, then sell it for a nice large mark-up. creating a luxury context for said products.     =Japan has a strong "Suit culture" where affordable quality is easily accessible.

Speaking from personal experience in selling both Ring jacket (made for Herringbone Sydney) and YY, they are not even remotely alike in terms of fit, construction, fabrics etc. and are indeed made for completely different purposes.

HC, you may have already gathered that 38R knows arse-all about most things - there's really little point in responding to him. There are several of us who do have rather more extensive experience in Japan...
