Yeah the OP's shoes look good. I've seen some Canali shoes (gunboats) that have the laminated look.

I'm interested to see something talking about Church's shoes being corrected grain. I definitely believe it, but just interested to see it documented somewhere.

All the ones described with some variation of "polished binder" are. The ones they call calf seem to be full-grain calf. I think the ones they call "crup" are shell, but I'm not certain.

It's hard to tell in some cases. But the construction is still decent.
